Assembly Steps
Note: Please do not tighten all bolts until the bed is assembled completely.
Step 1
Attach two posts (A) to one end guard rail (M) and one end guard rail (G) using two bolts (hardware 2) and the L-Allen key (hardware 7) for each connection. The diagram shows these parts being joined.
Hardware Used: 8 x Bolt 1/4*50mm (hardware 2).
Step 2
Attach two posts (C and D) to the remaining end guard rails (G and M) using two bolts (hardware 2) and the L-Allen key (hardware 7) for each connection. Connect these assemblies to form the basic frame structure. The diagram shows these parts being joined.
Hardware Used: 8 x Bolt 1/4*50mm (hardware 2).
Step 3
Attach the center brace (N) to the side rails (implied E/F/H/I/J) using three pads (hardware 6). Ensure any protective cover on the pads is removed before sticking, as indicated by the warning symbol ⚠️.
Hardware Used: 3 x Pad 40*12*15 (hardware 6).
Step 4
Assemble the main frame by connecting the side rails (I, H, J) to the posts (A, B, C, D). Use bolts (hardware 3 and 4) and tighten with the L-Allen key (hardware 7). The diagram shows the structure taking shape with these connections.
Hardware Used: 4 x Bolt 1/4*30mm (hardware 3), 16 x Bolt 5/16*19mm (hardware 4).
Step 5
Insert the 22 upper slats (K) into the designated slots on the side rails. Secure each end of the slats using plugs (P). The detailed diagrams show how the plugs fit into the slat and rail, with two plugs per slat.
Hardware Used: 22 x Upper Slat (K), 44 x Plug (hardware P).
Step 6
Insert the 22 lower slats (L) into the designated slots on the side rails. Secure each end of the slats using spacers (Q). The detailed diagrams show how the spacers fit into the slat and rail, with two spacers per slat.
Hardware Used: 22 x Lower Slat (L), 44 x Spacer (hardware Q).
Step 7
Attach the guard rails (E and F) to the upper bunk structure. Use bolts (hardware 1 and 2) and tighten with the L-Allen key (hardware 7). The detailed diagrams show the placement and connection points.
Hardware Used: 2 x Bolt 1/4*60mm (hardware 1), 6 x Bolt 1/4*50mm (hardware 2).
Step 8
Attach the ladder (O) to the bunk bed frame. Use bolts (hardware 3) and nuts (hardware 5), tightening with the wrench (hardware 8). The detailed diagrams show the ladder's connection points.
Hardware Used: 4 x Bolt 1/4*30mm (hardware 3), 4 x Nut 1/4 (hardware 5).
Completed Bed
The bunk bed is now fully assembled. It features a twin-sized upper bunk and a full-sized lower bunk, with guard rails on the upper bunk and a ladder for access.
⚠️ For items use on wooden floor, hard surfaces or carpets, it is recommended to install protective pads under all legs and supports to avoid/prevent from damages/scratches and discoloration.
SAFETY WARNING
Homelegance puts your child's safety as a Top Priority. Our bunk beds have been tested by an independent laboratory and certified to be in compliance with ASTMF-1427, "Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Bunk Beds" and U.S. Government specifications 16 Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 1213 and 1513.
Important Safety Information
- Follow the information on the warning attached to the upper end structure and on the carton. Do not remove this label.
- Always use the recommended size mattress or mattress support or both to help prevent the likelihood of entrapment or falls.
- Ensure thickness of mattress does not exceed 6" and mattress surface at least 5" inches below upper edge of guardrails.
- Do not allow children less than six years of age to use the upper bunk.
- Prohibit more than one person on upper bunk.
- Periodically check and ensure that the guardrail, ladder and other components are in their proper position, free from damage, and that all connectors are tight.
- Do not allow horseplay on or under the bed and prohibit jumping on the bed.
- Always use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
- Do not use substitute parts. Contact the manufacturer or dealer for replacement parts.
- Use of a night light may provide added safety precaution for a child using upper bunk.
- If the bunk bed will be placed next to a wall, the guardrail that runs the full length of the bed should be placed against the wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and the wall. (This applies only to bunk beds without two full-length guardrails.)
- Always use guardrails or both long sides of the upper bunk.
- The use of water or sleep flotation mattress is prohibited.
- Keep these instructions for future reference.
Strangulation Hazard
- Never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk bed that are not designed for use with the bed, for example, but not limited to hooks, belts, and jump ropes.
Mattress and Foundation Size Requirements
Use only a mattress which is 38½" in width for the upper bed, 53½" in width for the lower bed, and 74"-75" in length for the upper and lower bed. The total thickness of mattress and foundation (slat kit, bunk, etc.) combined must not exceed 6". Note: There must be at least 5" from the mattress sleeping surface to the top edge of the guardrail.
Replacement Parts
Replacement parts, including additional guardrails, may be obtained from any Homelegance Dealer.
