Important Safety Information

Warning Before Installation:

If you detect abnormal smell or smoke coming from the Network Video Recorder, power it off immediately.
Do not place the Network Video Recorder near heat sources, such as televisions or ovens.
Do not drop the Network Video Recorder or the Network Camera.
Keep the Network Video Recorder away from water. If it gets wet, power it off immediately.
Do not place the Network Video Recorder in high humidity environments.
Do not expose the Network Video Recorder to direct sunlight.
Do not attempt to remove or uninstall the software on the mounted flash memory.

Note: VIVOTEK does not provide warranty or technical support for third-party application software installed on the NVR.

Hardware Installation

Follow these steps to install the hardware:

Prepare the Enclosure: Open the NVR enclosure.
Install Hard Drives:
- Mount the hard drives (HDD) into the designated bays.
- Connect SATA power and SATA data cables to the hard drives. The diagram shows connecting two SATA HDDs.
Connect Internal Cables: Connect the SATA data cables from the motherboard to the hard drives.
Secure the Enclosure: Close and secure the NVR enclosure.
Connect External Cables:
- Connect the AC power adapter (AC 100-240V, 50/60Hz) to the NVR.
- Connect network cables to the LAN/WAN ports and PoE ports (for cameras).
- Connect USB devices to the USB 2.0 ports.

Step 11 depicts the initial software setup process, including camera detection and network configuration.

Important Notes

PoE Port Usage: Please do not connect the NVR's PoE ports to non-Powered Devices (non-PD), such as an Ethernet switch LAN port, as the Ethernet control circuits may not be compatible.
