Road Safety
Operate the device in a way that allows safe control of the vehicle. Stop if necessary to use features that could distract from driving. Device Operation
Placing the Device in Operation
Switching On/Off:
- Press the [Power/?️] button for switch-on.
- Hold the [Power/?️] button for more than 2 seconds for switch-off.
- If connected to vehicle ignition, it can also switch on/off with the ignition.
Volume
Adjust volume from 0 (off) to 39 (maximum) using the [?] button and dragging on the volume bar.
Muting the Device
Briefly press the [Power/?️] button to mute or reactivate the previous volume.
Main Menu
Access the main menu by pressing the [?/⬅️] button or by touching the top-left corner of the screen. The last active audio source plays back unless a new one is selected.
Setting the Reception Area
Navigate to Main Menu ➡️ [⚙️] ➡️ [General] ➡️ [Radio region]. Select the desired reception area (e.g., "USA1 (FM/AM)").
Radio Mode
Starting Radio Mode
From the main menu, press the [?] button.
Memory Bands
Switch between memory bands (e.g., FM, AM) using the [?️] button. Up to 18 FM and 12 AM stations can be stored per bank.
Tuning into Stations
Manual Tuning: Use the [⏭️/⏮️] buttons for approx. 2 seconds to increment frequency. Direct frequency input is also possible via a numeric keypad.
Seek Tuning: Briefly press the [⏭️/⏮️] buttons to tune to the next receivable station.
Storing Stations
Manual Store: Tune to a station, then touch and hold a preset channel (P1-P6) for approx. 2 seconds.
Automatic Store (Travelstore): Searches and stores the 6 strongest FM stations in the current memory bank. Previously stored stations are deleted.
Preset Stations
Tune to a preset station by touching its channel on the screen.
Seek Tuning Sensitivity
Adjust sensitivity using specific buttons. 'LOC' [?] on finds only strong signals; 'LOC' [?] off finds strong and weak signals.
RDS (Radio Data System)
Access RDS options by pressing the [?ℹ️] button.
USB/microSDHC Media Playback
This system supports audio (MP3/WMA), video, and image playback from USB drives or microSDHC cards.
Audio Playback
Select the source via the main menu. Use the [?/?] button to navigate. Press the [?] button to display all audio files. Tap on a folder/track to open or start playback.
Playback Controls:
- [▶️/⏸️]: Interrupt and continue playback.
- [⏭️/⏮️]: Select next/previous track.
- [⏭️/⏮️] (long press): Fast searching.
- [?]: Cycle through repeat modes (current track, current folder, all tracks).
- [?]: Start/end random track play.
- [?️]: Access equalizer settings.
- [⋮]: Show more controls.
Video Playback
Similar to audio playback. Select source, navigate folder/file list, and press play. Controls include [Next Movie], [Previous Movie], [▶️/⏸️], [?/?], [⋮].
Image Playback
Select source, navigate folder/file list, and press to view images. Controls include [Next Image], [Previous Image], [▶️/⏸️], [?/?], [⋮].
Connectivity
Bluetooth Mode
Allows registering cell phones and media devices for hands-free calling and audio streaming (A2DP/AVRCP).
Starting Bluetooth: From the main menu, press [??].
Registering Devices: Ensure Bluetooth is active on both devices. Search for new devices on your phone; "Blaupunkt" will appear. Establish connection and enter pairing code if prompted.
Telephone Mode: Access [?] (Dialpad), [?] (Phonebook), [??] (Call List), [⚙️] (Options), or [?❌] (Disconnect). Answer/reject calls using [?✅]/[?❌] buttons.
Alphabetic Search: In the Phonebook, use the keypad to search contacts.
Bluetooth Settings: Access via [⚙️] button. Options include [?➡️] (Auto Connect), [?➡️] (Auto Answer), and [??] (Synchronous Phone-Book). A Bluetooth icon ? indicates an active connection.
Audio Playback via Bluetooth Streaming
Play music from a connected Bluetooth device. From the main menu, press [??]. Controls similar to USB audio playback.
Apple CarPlay
A safer way to use your iPhone in the car. Connect your iPhone via Apple Digital Cable. Access navigation, calls, messages, and music. Exit CarPlay mode via the [?] button. Activate Siri voice control using the [?️] button.
Android Auto
Brings useful Android apps to your car display. Requires Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher (recommend 6.0 Marshmallow+), a data plan, and the Android Auto app. Connect via USB cable.
Settings and Features
External Audio/Video Sources
Features two external AV inputs (cinch socket at rear) for audio and video playback. Use caution with the connector to avoid injury. Start AV-IN mode via [AV IN Front]/[AV IN Back] buttons.
Sound Settings
Volume Distribution (Fader/Balance): Adjust sound balance between front/rear and left/right speakers using the [?↔️] button.
Equalizer: Access via the [?️] button. Select presets or customize frequency bands. The [Loudness] option can boost bass at low volumes.
Steering Wheel Control (SWC)
Configure steering wheel buttons for device control. Navigate to [⚙️] ➡️ [?️] and match buttons to functions. Press [?] to clear programming.
Basic Settings
Access via [⚙️] menu.
- General: Set OSD language, key color, radio reception region, confirmation beep, SWC menu, and LOC [?] function (local seeking).
- Video: Adjust Day/Night Mode and display brightness. Video playback may be restricted while driving if "Parking" is activated.
- Volume: Adjust volume ratios for all audio sources.
