HIGH PERFORMANCE LINE EXTREME® 300 SERIES DOOR
CLOPAY COMMERCIAL – MODELS CEPD 300 (SERVICE DOOR CURTAIN), CEPI 300 (INSULATED CURTAIN)
Product Overview & Key Benefits
A forklift is shown lifting a pallet of materials through an open, industrial-style roller door. The door is labeled "EXTREME SERIES". The forklift is a Hyundai brand. The door model shown is CEPD 300.
Intelligent Operation and High Cycle Life
The Clopay EXTREME® 300 Series Door is designed for demanding applications, offering 300,000 cycles of maintenance-free performance to maximize uptime and productivity. Its rugged springless design eliminates a common point of failure in high-cycle products. For applications requiring more than 300,000 cycles but less than one million, this door can be upgraded to offer 500,000 cycles with a 3-year warranty.
Unparalleled Energy Efficiency
The insulated model features the patented Thermiser Max® perimeter sealing system. This system meets ASHRAE 90.1, 2015 IECC, and California's Title 24 air infiltration requirements, achieving an independently tested value of less than 0.3 CFM/FT², contributing to reduced air exchange and improved energy efficiency.
Apex Pro SmartController™
The intelligent compact control panel features plug-and-play wiring for easier installation and servicing. Its LCD screen provides clear communication of door status, step-by-step instructions for door commissioning, and electronic setting of door limits.
Smooth High-Speed Operation
The compact operator utilizes a variable-frequency drive (VFD) for a smooth soft start and stop, reducing wear on both the door and the operator. The 300 Series Door operates at speeds of up to 24 inches per second. The operator's direct drive design eliminates sprockets and chains, further reducing maintenance. The series is compatible with a 120V service, requiring an optional transformer.
Standard Component Materials and Finishes
The EXTREME® 300 Series Door is constructed with durable materials:
- 1. Hood: Galvanized steel with powder coat finish to match the curtain, enclosing the curtain and providing weather resistance.
- 2. Springless Shaft: Steel design that reduces maintenance requirements and facilitates cycle capacity.
- 3. Brackets/Coil Box Assembly: Steel plate brackets with powder coat finish to match guides.
- 4. Motor: Compact, direct drive operator with no roller chains or sprockets.
- 5. Curtain: Galvanized steel with rust-inhibiting CycleShield™ powder coat standard finish in Gray, Tan, or White. Features interlocking roll-formed slats with end locks to maintain alignment and prevent wear. The CEPI300 model includes an insulated curtain.
- 6. Guides: Steel angles with powder coat finish. Equipped with self-lubricating UHMW anti-wear strips to reduce friction and curtain wear, and perimeter-sealing, double brush weather stripping.
- 7. Bottom Bar: Two back-to-back structural steel angles with powder coat finish. Includes a bottom bar flag for blanking and commissioning accuracy.
Unique Features
Intelligent Communication
The Apex Pro SmartController™ (NEMA 4X) offers plug-and-play connections to the operator and standard sensors, reducing installation time. Its LCD screen guides users through commissioning, electronic limit setting, and displays status/error messages.
Monitored Protection, Even at High Speeds
Factory-mounted UL 325-2010 (NEMA 4X) compliant photo eye sensors enable momentary contact operation, beneficial in high-use areas like parking garages. If the photo eye beam is interrupted before the door fully closes, the door immediately halts downward travel and reverses to the fully open position.
SafetyGard Light Curtain Technology
A 6-foot tall light curtain is integrated within the guide construction. If the door is cycling and an object breaks the curtain beams, the door will immediately halt downward travel and reverse direction to return to the open position.
120V Compatibility
The door system is compatible with 120V input by adding an optional transformer. The transformer must be mounted to the wall and measures 13-1/2" W × 16-1/8" H.
Operation and Structural Requirements
Motor operation is required for this product. The door assembly is supported by a guide assembly attached to the jamb construction. Additional header support is generally not required unless mandated by a larger opening width.
- Static design wind load: up to 50 PSF
- Operational maximum wind load: up to 10 PSF
Optional Materials and Finishes
Customize the door with various options:
- Stainless steel 300 series in #4 finish.
- SpectraShield® powder coating, available in more than 180 colors.
- CycleShield™ powder coating, available in more than 180 colors, in addition to the standard Gray, Tan, and White finishes.
