Basic and Advanced Programming
Getting Started: Entering Programming Mode
To enter programming mode, press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 1 second.
General Programming Keystrokes
The following sequence describes the general process for navigating and setting functions:
- Press UP or DOWN to scroll through available functions.
- Press and hold ENTER for one second to select a function or option. The display will flash to indicate selection.
- Press ENTER to display the currently set option for the selected function.
- Press UP or DOWN to cycle through and change the option.
- Press ENTER to store the selected option.
- Press ENTER to proceed to the next function.

Basic Programming Functions
HANDOPERATION (PM)
Configures the gate operator's installation side and type.
- Options:
- LEFT HAND INSTALLATION: For operator on the left side of the gate (viewed from inside).
- RIGHT HAND INSTALLATION: For operator on the right side of the gate (viewed from inside).
- SINGLE GATE: For single gate installations.
- DUAL GATE: For dual gate installations.
Note: For LRA PULL-TO-OPEN installations (gate swings inward), leave the controller set for RIGHT HAND operation. For LRA PUSH-TO-OPEN installations (gate swings outward), set the controller for LEFT HAND operation.
AUTO CLOSE TIMER (AC)
Sets the automatic closing delay after the gate has opened.
- Options:
- TIMER DISABLED
- SET TIMER VALUE: 1 to 59 SECONDS
- SET TIMER VALUE: 1 to 9 MINUTES
RUN ALARM (RP)
Enables or disables an alarm that sounds during gate operation.
- Options: RUN ALARM OFF, RUN ALARM ON
Note: Not for barrier gates.
PRE-START ALARM (RP)
Enables or disables a pre-start alarm before gate movement.
- Options: PRE-START ALARM OFF, PRE-START ALARM ON FOR 1 - 9 SECONDS
Note: Not for barrier gates.
MAXIMUM OPEN CURRENT (OC)
Sets the maximum current limit for the gate in the open position.
- Options: Adjust to the proper value (maximum load range number will be displayed).
Notes: For non-contact sensors. For contact sensors. Must be ON for slide gates.
MAXIMUM CLOSE CURRENT (CC)
Sets the maximum current limit for the gate in the close position.
- Options: Adjust to the proper value.
Note: Must be ON for slide gates.
ADVANCED PROGRAMMING (AD)
Enables access to advanced programming functions.
- Options: ENABLED, DISABLED
Note: Advanced programming will remain enabled after exiting until the gate cycles 50 times.
ANTI-TAILGATE (TG)
Enables or disables the anti-tailgate feature.
- Options: ENABLED, DISABLED
Note: Not for barrier gates.
MID-TRAVEL STOP POSITION (MT)
Allows setting a stop position before the gate reaches its full travel.
- Options: DISABLED (Gate runs full travel), ENABLED
Notes: For non-contact sensors. For contact sensors.
SINGLE BUTTON INPUT SETUP (SB)
Configures the behavior of a single button input.
- Options:
- INPUT ACTIVE: Single input will cycle operator in order of OPEN-STOP-CLOSE-STOP.
- INPUT ACTIVE: Single input will open operator; if already open, it will close operator.
- INPUT INACTIVE
ANTI-TAILGATE ENABLE (AT)
Enables or disables the anti-tailgate feature.
- Options:
- ANTI-TAILGATE ENABLE OFF: Gate requires auto or manual close.
- ANTI-TAILGATE ENABLE ON: Gate closes when shadow loop clears.
Note: For barrier gates only.
STAGGER MODE (SM)
Configures the stagger mode for dual gates.
- Options: DISABLED, ENABLED
Note: Non-LRA dual gates only.
STAGGER TIME (ST)
Sets the delay time for stagger mode.
- Options: SET STAGGER DELAY VALUE: 1 to 99 SECONDS
Note: Non-LRA dual gates only.
RADIO ENABLE (RA)
Enables or disables the internal radio receiver.
- Options: ENABLED, DISABLED
Note: Internal radio receiver disabled.
LEARN TRANSMITTERS (TL)
Enables the controller to learn new transmitters.
- Options: LEARN TRANSMITTERS
Note: The display will show the transmitter ID number.
AUXILIARY RELAY MODE (AR)
Configures the function of the auxiliary relay.
- Options:
- AUXILIARY RELAY DISABLED
- USED FOR MAGLOCK CONTROL
- USED FOR MAGLOCK OR SOLENOID CONTROL
- 3 SECOND DELAY TO RE-ENERGIZE
- USED FOR TICKET DISPENSER CONTROL
- USED FOR WARNING STROBE LIGHT
- USED FOR CONNECTION TO ALARM DEVICE
Note: Not for barrier gates.
DELETE TRANSMITTERS (TD)
Allows deletion of programmed transmitters.
- Options: DELETE TRANSMITTERS
Note: The controller is ready to delete one or more transmitters. To exit without deleting, press ENTER. To delete all, press ENTER for 2 seconds. To select specific transmitters, scroll through the list of transmitter ID numbers.
REVERSE DELAY TIME (RD)
Sets a delay time for reversing operations.
- Options: SET TIMER VALUE: 0 to 3 SECONDS
Note: Not for barrier gates.
LEARN MGT TRANSMITTERS (ML)
Enables the controller to learn MGT transmitters.
- Options: LEARN MGT TRANSMITTERS
Note: The controller is ready to learn an MGT transmitter. Activate the MGT transmitter; the display will show 'rE' if learned successfully, 'DU' if already entered, or 'ERROR' if decode is bad. Press UP or DOWN to select MGT function ('TE' = Reverse, 'St' = Stop, 'OP' = Open Obstruction, 'CL' = Close Obstruction), then press ENTER to accept.
ERASE MGT TRANSMITTERS (MD)
Allows deletion of all MGT transmitters.
- Options: ERASE MGT TRANSMITTERS
Note: The controller is ready to delete all MGT transmitters. Press ENTER for 2 seconds to confirm deletion. Press ENTER quickly to exit without deleting.
BRAKE DELAY TIME (BD)
Sets a delay time for the brake operation.
- Options: SET TIMER VALUE: 1 to 10 SECONDS
Note: Not for barrier gates.
OPEN PREVENTION (MD)
Configures the gate's behavior during power failure.
- Options:
- SET TO FAIL SAFE MODE
- SET TO FAIL SECURE MODE
- SET TO OPEN IMMEDIATE MODE
- SET TO CLOSE IMMEDIATE MODE
Note: DC models only.
CONSTANT PRESSURE MODE SELECTION (CP)
Configures pressure sensitivity for constant pressure operation.
- Options:
- CONSTANT PRESSURE SET TO OFF (MOMENTARY PRESSURE ON)
- OPEN BUTTON SET FOR CONSTANT PRESSURE
- CLOSE BUTTON SET FOR CONSTANT PRESSURE
- OPEN AND CLOSE BUTTONS BOTH SET FOR CONSTANT PRESSURE
Note: Not for barrier gates.
MOTOR TYPE SELECTION (MO)
Selects the type of motor connected to the controller.
- Options:
- AC MOTOR ONLY
- DC MOTOR ONLY WITH BRAKING
- DC MOTOR WITH SOFT START/STOP
- 3 PHASE AC MOTOR
- AC MOTOR PRIMARY WITH DC MOTOR BACKUP WITH BRAKING
- AC MOTOR PRIMARY WITH DC MOTOR BACKUP WITH SOFT START/STOP
Notes: All LRA installations use D2. Selection must match the motor board.
SHADOW LOOP OPEN PREVENTION (SP)
Configures how the shadow loop affects gate operation.
- Options:
- STANDARD OPERATION
- SHADOW LOOP INHIBITS CLOSING ONLY
- OPEN INHIBIT ON, SHADOW LOOP INHIBITS OPENING AND CLOSING
Note: Not for barrier gates.
RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS (CL)
Resets all programmed data to the manufacturer's default settings.
- Options: Reset all programmed data.
Note: This function will not erase transmitters, current sense values, or motor type. The display will show "DELETE ALL" and the controller returns to programming mode.
MGT MONITORING (MM)
Monitors the battery and connection of the MGT transmitter.
- Note: Complies with UL 325 6th Edition.
REMOTE CLOSE OBSTRUCTION ACTIVE (RC)
Configures the controller's response to obstruction during remote close operations.
- Options:
- INPUT ACTIVE: Close obstruction input active.
- INPUT INACTIVE ONLY IF SECOND GATE ACTIVE: Close obstruction input active.
REMOTE OPEN OBSTRUCTION ACTIVE (RO)
Configures the controller's response to obstruction during remote open operations.
- Options: INPUT ACTIVE: Open obstruction input active.
CLOSE OBSTRUCTION INPUT ACTIVE (CO)
Configures the controller's response to obstruction during close operations.
- Options: INPUT ACTIVE: Close obstruction input active.
OPEN OBSTRUCTION INPUT ACTIVE (OT)
Configures the controller's response to obstruction during open operations.
- Options:
- INPUT ACTIVE: Open obstruction input active.
- INPUT INACTIVE
SOFT START/STOP DURATION (SS)
Sets the duration for the soft start/stop feature.
- Options: SET SOFT START DURATION TIME: 1 to 10 SECONDS
Note: Not for barrier gates.
MAXIMUM RUN TIMER (RT)
Sets the maximum time the gate can run continuously.
- Options: ENTER, PRESS ENTER FOR 1 SECOND WHILE DISPLAY IS FLASHING, PRESS UP OR DOWN TO CHANGE THE MAXIMUM RUN TIME (10-99 SECONDS), PRESS ENTER TO STORE THE VALUE.
Note: Display shows current maximum run time setting.
MAINTENANCE ALERT TRIGGER (MA)
Configures and manages maintenance alerts based on cycle count.
- Options:
- DISABLES THE MAINTENANCE ALERT FUNCTION
- SETS THIS MAINTENANCE ALERT TRIGGER FOR 5, 10, 15, OR 25 THOUSAND CYCLES
- RESETS THE MAINTENANCE ALERT INDICATOR AND SETS THE MAINTENANCE ALERT COUNT TO ZERO
RESET CYCLE COUNT (CT)
Resets the gate cycle counter.
- Options: Press ENTER for 2 seconds while the "CT" function is displayed to reset the cycle count to zero.
Note: Example display: 01-04- (shows 10,420 cycles). Decimal point lit on 4th display.
ADVANCED PROGRAMMING FUNCTIONS
When Advanced Programming (AD) is enabled, additional functions become accessible. If disabled, only basic functions are available.
