These release notes accompany cJunosEvolved Release 25.2R1. These Release Notes describe new and changed features, known limitations, and open and resolved problems in the software.

cJunosEvolved is Juniper Networks® containerized Junos OS Evolved based platform. This containerized form factor is introduced to make it easy for users to create instant virtual lab topologies for training, demo, proof of concept, script development, configuration generation and testing the control plane in a virtual lab environments, without having to build labs with Juniper Networks' physical devices based on Junos OS Evolved.

What's New

cJunosEvolved is a container version of a Juniper platform PTX10001-36MR and PTX10002-36QDD that runs the Junos OS Evolved. You can install cJunosEvolved as a Docker container on an x86 server or within a VM running on an x86 server.

cJunosEvolved is a container that you can use only in labs and not in the production environment.

cJunosEvolved is a KVM based Docker container. The embedded VM within the container provides the Junos OS Evolved control and management plane functionality. The VM includes the Routing Engine and Packet Forwarding Engine. The Express 4 (BT) and Express 5 (BX) data plane ASIC simulators reside in the Linux side of the container.

Instead of using hardware router, you can use the cJunosEvolved to start the Junos software for testing the network configurations and protocols. The cJunosEvolved container platform primarily acts as a test platform for lab simulations for the customers.
