Introduction

This document provides instructions for operating the MINI Walkie Talkie, model A09. It covers basic functions, advanced features, and operational guidelines.

Dimensions: Folded: 7.8x4.25cm, Unfolded: 15.6x8.5cm.

Device Overview

The MINI Walkie Talkie features a compact design with the following key components:

• ⚙️ 1. ON/OFF Switch: Used for powering the device on/off and managing channels.
• ?️ 2. PTT Button: Press to transmit audio.
• ⬆️ 3. VOL+/CH+: Increases volume in short press, changes channel in long press.
• ⬇️ 4. VOL-/CH-: Decreases volume in short press, changes channel in long press.
• ? 5. Indicator light: Shows device status (e.g., red for transmitting, green for receiving).
• ? 6. Charging point: For charging the device battery.
• ? 7. Ear Cup: Earpiece for audio output.

Button Functions

ON/OFF Switch

Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF Switch for 3 seconds. The indicator light will flash between red and green, indicating the device is on.

Power Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF Switch for 3 seconds. The indicator light will flash between red and green, indicating the device is off.

Channel Management (Short Press): A short press of the ON/OFF Switch will retain the current channel.

PTT Function

For communication, both devices must be on the same channel. Press the PTT button to send a message; the indicator light will turn red. The device is in receiving mode when the indicator light is green, except when the PTT button is pressed.

Volume Function

VOL+: Short press to increase volume.

VOL-: Short press to decrease volume.

Channel Function

CH+ (Long Press): Press and hold VOL+/CH+ to change to the next channel (from Channel 1 to Channel 16).

CH- (Long Press): Press and hold VOL-/CH- to change to the previous channel (from Channel 16 to Channel 1).

Advanced Functions

Voice Guide Function

This feature provides audio prompts for operation, especially useful in low-light conditions. Two methods to access voice guide:

1. Activate via computer programming software.
2. Select Channel 15, then press and hold VOL+ and the ON/OFF Switch simultaneously to access voice guide options (e.g., "Chinese", "English", "Switch off Voice guide system").

Low Power Warning

When the battery is low:

• In Chinese voice guide mode, the system will announce “请换电池” (Please change battery) every 30 seconds.
• In English voice guide mode, the system will announce “Please change battery” every 30 seconds.
• If voice guide is off, the indicator light will flash red and the device will emit a "Di", "Di", "Di" sound to indicate low power.

LOCK & Unlock Mode

Press and hold both [VOL+/CH+] and [VOL-/CH-] buttons simultaneously to lock or unlock the device. A single "di" sound indicates locking, while "di", "di" indicates unlocking.

TOT Function (Time-Out Timer)

The communication time frame can be programmed via computer software, adjustable from 15 seconds up to 300 seconds. If the transmission exceeds the set time, it will stop, and a warning will be issued. The device returns to normal after the PTT button is released.

QT/DQT (Quiet Tone / Digital Quiet Tone)

This device supports 50 sets of QT and 60.0~260Hz non-standard QT, as well as 105 sets of DQT and D000~D777 non-standard DQT. These settings can be configured via computer programming.

Channels can be set with QT/DQT signals to filter out calls from other users. The device will ignore signals with different QT/DQT settings. Communication is only possible between devices with matching QT/DQT settings. QT/DQT does not encrypt messages.

Encrypt Function

This device includes an encryption function to protect frequency, QT data, and user information. This feature is configured through computer programming software.

VOX Function (Voice Activated Transmission)

The VOX function activates the PTT automatically when voice is detected. This function and its sub-settings are configured via computer programming.

• VOX Sensitive Level: Adjustable from Level 1 to Level 9.
• VOX Detect Delay Time: Adjustable from 0.5s, 1s, 1.5s, 2s, 2.5s, to 3s.

BCL Function (Busy Channel Lockout)

The BCL function can be set up using computer programming. When active, it prevents the device from transmitting on an occupied channel, thus avoiding interference from other stations on the same channel. During carrier frequency, the device will receive the correct BCL frequency. If QT/DQT is selected, the device will not receive carrier frequency and CTCSS/DCS BCL. If the Busy Channel Lockout is active and the PTT button is pressed on an occupied channel, a warning sound will be generated. Releasing the PTT button stops the warning sound.

Hopping Function

This device features a hopping function that can encrypt information from CTCSS/DSC. This is configured through computer programming.
