Ricoh WG Series Waterproof Camera Precautions
This document outlines essential precautions for using Ricoh WG-6, WG-7, G900, and G900SE cameras in water. Please read carefully before use.
Regarding Waterproof Design
The following sections detail important considerations for maintaining the waterproof integrity of your Ricoh camera.
Precautions Before Using the Camera in Water
Before closing the battery/card cover, ensure that the rubber seal and its contact surface are free from foreign objects such as dust, sand, hair, lint, or liquid. Wipe off any foreign objects with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Close the battery/card cover securely until it clicks. Failure to do so may allow water to enter and damage the camera. (See Figure 1 for illustration of proper closure).
Wait until the camera is completely dry before changing the battery or SD memory card. Avoid changing these components in locations where the camera might get wet or dirty, and always ensure your hands are dry.
Precautions After Using the Camera in Water
Do not open the battery/card cover if the camera is wet. Wipe off any water with a clean, lint-free cloth.
If the camera is very dirty or has been used in seawater, turn it off and ensure the battery/card cover is firmly closed. Rinse the camera under running tap water or submerge it in a bowl of clean water for a short period (2-3 minutes). (See Figure 2 for illustration of rinsing).
To maintain the camera's waterproof performance, it is recommended to replace the waterproof seal once a year. Contact your nearest service center for details regarding seal replacement, as charges will apply.
