To Remove: Ensure the camera is turned off. Push the edge of the memory card with your fingernail; it will spring out for removal.
Note:
- MicroSD card sold separately. Requires Class-10 or UHS-I rating, up to 512GB capacity.
- VIOFO industrial grade microSD cards are recommended for endurance and performance.
- Memory card must be formatted before first use (exFAT or FAT32 file system, via computer or camera).
- Unplug the power cable before inserting or removing the microSD card.
- Inserting/removing the card during recording may corrupt files.
Format the Memory Card
Memory card must be formatted before first use.
In Camera: Use the VIOFO App or long-press the [format button].
Using Computer: Follow your computer's user manual. For deep formatting, download the GUIFormat tool from viofo.com/download/guiformat.exe.
Note: Periodic formatting ensures optimal performance. Formatting erases all data; back up important files first.
Install the Dashcam
1. Select a mounting location on the windshield behind the rear-view mirror, ensuring it does not obstruct the driver's view.
2. Wipe the windscreen surface clean with a dry cloth to ensure it is grease-free for the sticky pad.
3. Mount the dashcam directly to the windshield using the sticky pad, or attach the static sticker first (refer to page 9 for static sticker guide).
4. Peel the protection film off the sticky pad.
5. Fix the camera onto the selected location.
6. Adjust the Bracket Angle: Adjust the bracket up/down as needed for video recording.
Connect to Power: Insert the car charger USB cable's male port into the camera mount's USB Type-C port. Plug the USB power adapter into your vehicle's 12V / 24V female power socket.
Tips:
- Avoid locations that interfere with driver visibility or safety.
- Mount close to the rearview mirror for balanced coverage of the scene.
- Position the lens within the windshield wiper's sweeping range for clear views on rainy days.
- Do not install near or on airbag panels.
- Ensure the mounting location is not affected by sun control film (window tint) or other electronic equipment.
Note: Do not install near airbag panels or within their working range, as the manufacturer is not liable for injury or death caused by airbag deployment.
Install the Static Sticker (Optional)
1. Wipe the windscreen clean.
2. Peel the red protective film from the static sticker and attach it to the windscreen, pressing to remove bubbles.
3. Peel the green protective film from the static sticker.
4. Peel the protection film from the mount's sticky pad and attach it to the sticker. Press firmly.
3. Dash Cam Recording Operation
Loop Recording
1. Insert a microSD card. Automatic loop recording starts when the camera powers on.
2. Video file time frames: 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes.
3. When microSD card space is insufficient, the oldest files are overwritten.
4. Loop recording files are saved to: SD card:\DCIM\MOVIE folder.
Emergency Recording
1. Automatic Emergency Recording: When the G-sensor detects a collision, current footage is locked to prevent overwriting.
2. Manual Emergency Recording: Short-press the [record button] during recording to lock the current footage.
Note: G-sensor sensitivity can be adjusted via the VIOFO App ("G-sensor" option). Locked files are saved to: DCIM\Movie\RO.
Disable / Enable Audio Recording
Press the [mic button] once to turn audio recording off or on. The [mic button] LED will be off or solid Red.
Parking Mode
Three options are available:
- Auto Event Detection: Records a video sequence when a moving object is detected during parking. Stops recording when no new movement is detected.
- Time Lapse Recording: Records at low frames (1/2/3/5/10 fps), continuously without audio.
- Low Bitrate Recording: Uses low bitrate for video and audio, with small file sizes for continuous recording.
Note: Parking mode provides surveillance only when the engine is off and the USB Type-C Hardwire Kit is used for continuous power. The Hardwire Kit protects the car battery. VIOFO HK4 ACC hardwire kit cable is recommended for parking mode.
Parking Recording Timer: "Off" means continuous recording until hardwire kit cuts power. "1 hour" means the camera shuts down after 1 hour in parking mode.
Enter Parking Mode Timer: (For hardwire cable only) "OFF" enters parking mode immediately when the engine is off. "90s" enters parking mode 90 seconds after the engine is off.
Parking G-Sensor: Detects impacts or collisions, triggering event recording. High sensitivity is recommended for parking mode.
Parking Motion Detection: Adjusts sensitivity to prevent minor motion (wind/rain) from triggering recording.
Image Rotate: Allows changing the camera image orientation.
Image Mirror: Allows reversing the image.
Notification Sounds: Options for Off, Button beep only, Startup sound only, or All on. Controls button and startup sounds.
Voice Notification: Turn voice notifications on or off.
Note for Hot Weather: If parking outside in hot summer, time lapse recording is recommended. If the car interior exceeds 60°C, turn off the dashcam to prevent errors or damage.

- Time-lapse Recording: Options: Off, 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 fps. Records at specified intervals to conserve memory and reduce review time. Default is Off.
- Loop Recording: Options: Off, 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes. Recording starts automatically upon power-on with a microSD card. Each file is one minute long by default; older files are replaced when storage is full.
- Recording Audio: Turn the microphone on/off by pressing the [mic button].
- Exposure Value: Adjusts EV from -2.0 to +2.0 for better footage under different lighting. Default is 0.0.
- HDR (High Dynamic Range): Options: Off, On, or HDR Timer. Balances lighting in bright and dark areas to avoid overexposure. Default is Off.
