Cables: Cisco recommends using certified HDMI cables (High Speed HDMI 1.4b for cameras and presentation sources, Premium High Speed HDMI for screens) and Ethernet cables for camera control and network connectivity (Wi-Fi can be used instead of Ethernet for network connection).
Safety and Mounting Hardware
The wall and mounting hardware must be able to safely support the product. Installation must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with state and local building regulations.
Ventilation Requirements
Ensure that ventilation openings on the codec are not blocked. Maintain the following clearances:
- Minimum 10cm (4 inches) of free space in front and rear of the unit.
- Minimum 4.5cm (1.7 inches) of free space below the codec and any adjacent rack-mounted component.
Mounting the Codec in a Rack (Optional)
Rack ears can be mounted so the connector panel faces forward or backward.
Camera Power and Control
Always use the power supplies specified for the PTZ 4K camera. Use an Ethernet cable for camera control; do not use a VISCA cable as it can cause severe damage to the camera.
