Corston Regent Recessed Door Furniture & Hook Lock Installation Instructions
Overview
This document provides installation instructions for the Corston Regent range of recessed door furniture and hook locks. Please follow these steps carefully for proper installation.

Small Pull Handle
Included:
- Small pull handle x1
Tools You'll Need:
- Drill ?
- 50mm drill bit
- Spirit level ?
- Polymer grab adhesive
Installation Steps:
- 1. Mark the position of the handle on the door.Diagram shows a door edge with a dashed line indicating where to mark the handle position.
- 2. Drill a hole 50mm in diameter and 14mm deep.Diagram shows a drill with a 50mm bit creating a circular recess in the door.
- 3. Test the handle in the recess, making sure it sits flush with the door.Diagram shows the pull handle being placed into the drilled recess to check for fit.
- 4. Apply the adhesive to the back of the handle.Diagram shows adhesive being applied to the rear of the pull handle.
- 5. Carefully insert the handle into the hole, making sure it's level. Quickly wipe off any excess adhesive.Diagram shows the handle being inserted into the recess, with a spirit level indicating it's horizontal. Excess adhesive is being wiped away.
- 6. Leave the adhesive to cure for the length of time specified by the manufacturer.Diagram shows a timer icon indicating a waiting period for the adhesive to cure.
Medium Pull Handle
Included:
- Medium pull handle x1
Tools You'll Need:
- Drill ?
- 50mm drill bit
- Chisel or router
- Spirit level ?
- Polymer grab adhesive
Installation Steps:
- 1. Carefully trace around the back of the handle to mark its position.Diagram shows the back of the medium pull handle being traced onto the door surface. Dimensions 140mm and 50mm are indicated.
- 2. Make a recess in the door 14mm deep.Diagram shows a router or chisel creating a rectangular recess in the door, with a 14mm depth indicated.
- 3. Test the handle in the recess, making sure it sits flush with the door.Diagram shows the medium pull handle being placed into the prepared recess to check for flushness.
- 4. Apply the adhesive to the back of the handle.Diagram shows adhesive being applied to the rear of the medium pull handle.

Edge Pull Handle

- Wood screw x1
Tools You'll Need:
- Drill ?
- 2mm drill bit
- 28mm drill bit
- Spirit level ?
- Flathead screwdriver (6.5mm)
Installation Steps:
- 1. Mark the position of the handle on the door.Diagram shows a door edge with a dashed line indicating where to mark the handle position.
- 2. Drill a hole 30mm in diameter and 30mm deep.Diagram shows a drill with a 28mm bit creating a circular recess in the door, 30mm deep.
- 3. Test the handle in the recess, making sure it sits flush with the door.Diagram shows the edge pull handle being placed into the drilled recess to check for fit.
- 4. Using a 2mm drill bit, drill a pilot hole for the wood screw.Diagram shows a drill with a 2mm bit creating a small pilot hole for the screw.

Thumbturn & Hook Lock

Tools You'll Need:
- Drill ?
- 2mm drill bit
- 5mm drill bit
- 8mm drill bit
- 16mm drill bit
- 50mm drill bit
- Spirit level ?
- Chisel
- Polymer grab adhesive
- Flathead screwdriver (6.5mm)
- Crosshead screwdriver (PZ2)
Installation Steps:
Hook Lock Body Installation:
- 1. Mark out the hole for the hook lock body.Diagram shows marking the outline for the hook lock body on the door edge.
- 2. Using a 16mm drill bit, drill out the majority of the hole.Diagram shows a drill with a 16mm bit creating a large recess for the lock body, with dimensions 16mm and 100mm indicated.
- 3. Chisel out the remainder of the hole and make square.Diagram shows a chisel being used to clean up the edges of the recess and make it square.
- 4. Mark out the front plate recess.Diagram shows marking the recess for the front plate on the door face.
- 5. Chisel out the front plate recess so that it's 3mm deep.Diagram shows a chisel creating a shallow recess for the front plate, 3mm deep.
- 6. Mark out the screw holes. Drill the inner two as pilot holes using a 2mm drill bit. Drill the outer two as recesses using a 5mm drill bit.Diagram shows marking screw positions and drilling pilot holes (2mm) and larger recesses (5mm) for the lock body screws.
Thumbturn Installation:
- 7. Mark the position of the thumbturn on the door.Diagram shows marking the position for the thumbturn on the door face.
- 8. Drill a hole 50mm in diameter and 8mm deep. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the door.Diagram shows a 50mm drill bit creating a shallow recess on the door face.
- 9. Drill an 8mm hole for the spindle through the centre of the previously drilled holes.Diagram shows drilling an 8mm hole through the door edge to accommodate the spindle.
- 10. Test the thumbturn and hook lock together in the door.Diagram shows the thumbturn and lock mechanism being temporarily fitted to check alignment.
Assembly:
- 11. Insert the lock body. Use the wood screws to secure the lock to the door, followed by the front plate mounting screws to secure the front plate to the lock body.Diagram shows the lock body being screwed into place, followed by the front plate being attached with screws.
- 12. Apply adhesive to the backs of the thumbturn and coin turn.Diagram shows adhesive being applied to the rear of the thumbturn and coin turn components.
- 13. Carefully insert the thumb turn and coin turn into the recesses, ensuring the spindle is in the hole and both are positioned vertically.Diagram shows the thumbturn and coin turn being fitted onto the spindle and into their respective recesses.
- 14. Leave the adhesive to cure for the length of time specified by the manufacturer.Diagram shows a timer icon indicating a waiting period for the adhesive to cure.
Strike Plate Installation:
- 15. Mark out the strike plate. The top of the strike plate should be the same height as the lock front plate.Diagram shows marking the position of the strike plate on the door frame, aligning its top edge with the front plate.
- 16. Drill out the majority of the strike plate hole (15mm).Diagram shows drilling a recess for the strike plate, with a 15mm drill bit and 34mm depth indicated.

- 19. Mark and drill the strike plate screw pilot holes.Diagram shows marking and drilling pilot holes for the strike plate screws.
