7.1 Important Notice
Safety and Care:
- If display errors persist, contact your retailer.
- The product is waterproof but avoid submerging it.
- Do not clean with steam jets, high-pressure cleaners, or water hoses.
- Use with care and avoid thinners or solvents that can damage surfaces.
- Warranty does not cover wear and tear from normal use.
- Unauthorized modifications void user authority.
- This device complies with FCC Rules Part 15, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any received interference.
- The equipment has been tested and meets Class B digital device limits for residential installations. If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a technician.

Construction: The housing is made of PC+ABS, the LCD display window is tempered glass, and the buttons are made of ABS.

7.4 Display
The display shows the following information:
- SOC (State of Charge) indication
- Warn code indication
- Real-time speed

- Power-assisted mode indication (4 or 6 Modes)

- Multifunction indication (Clock, Trip, ODO, MAX, AVG, Range, CAL, Cadence, Time)

7.5 Key Definition
The control buttons are defined as follows:
- Up/Headlight: Controls the headlight and brightness.
- Down/Walk Assistance: Activates walk assistance.
- Power On/Off: Turns the HMI on or off.
7.6 Normal Operation
7.6.1 Power ON/OFF
Press and hold the power button (>2S) to power on the HMI. Press and hold again (>2S) to power off the HMI.
7.6.2 Power-Assisted Mode Selection
Briefly press the [Up] or [Down] button (<0.5S) to select the power-assisted mode and change the motor's output power. Modes available are 4 or 6. The default is 6 Modes, with ECO as the lowest and BOOST as the highest. Mode OFF provides no power assistance.
7.6.3 Headlight / Backlight
The headlight can be switched on manually or automatically. The auto light function is active when the HMI powers on.
- Press and hold [Up] (>2S) to turn on the headlight and reduce backlight brightness.
- Press and hold [Up] (>2S) again to turn off the headlight and increase backlight brightness.
Note: The auto light function may fail after manual switching. The function resets after restarting the HMI.
7.6.4 Walk Assistance
Walk assistance can only be activated when the e-bike is stationary.
- Briefly press [Down] (<0.5S) until the walk assistance symbol appears.
- Keep pressing [Down] until the symbol flashes, indicating activation.
- The speed indication will show 2.5km/h if the real-time speed is less than 2.5km/h.
- Releasing the button exits walk assistance, and the symbol stops flashing.
- If no operation occurs within 5 seconds, the HMI automatically returns to mode OFF.
7.6.5 Multifunction Selection
Briefly press the [Mode] button (<0.5S) to cycle through different functions and information displayed:
Clock → Trip Distance → Total Distance (ODO) → Max Speed (MAX) → Average Speed (AVG) → Remaining Distance (Range) → Energy Consumption (CAL) → Riding Cadence → Riding Time (Time) → Cycle.
7.6.6 Battery Indication
The HMI displays battery capacity from 100% to 0%. When the remaining charge is less than 5%, the indicator blinks at 1 Hz to signal the need for recharging.
7.6.7 Bluetooth
The HMI supports OTA (Over-The-Air) updates for firmware via Bluetooth. It can also connect to the Bafang GO+ APP for enhanced functionality.
7.6.8 USB Charging
With the HMI off, connect a USB cable to the charge port and turn on the HMI to begin charging. The maximum charge voltage is 5V, and the maximum charge current is 1A.
7.6.9 Service Tip
When total mileage exceeds 5000 km, a symbol will appear on the HMI to remind users to visit an after-sales store for maintenance. This function is off by default.
7.6.10 Riding Data Interface
Double press the [Mode] button (<0.5S) to enter the riding data interface. Press the [Mode] button (<0.5S) to switch pages. Double press again (<0.5S) to return to the main interface.
To clear riding data (Trip, MAX, AVG, Time), press and hold the [Down] button (>2S) when the real-time speed is less than 5 km/h and the power-assisted mode is not walk assistance.
7.7 Settings
7.7.1 "Quick settings" Interface
From the main interface, press and hold the [Up] and [Down] buttons simultaneously to enter the "Quick settings" interface. Press and hold them again to exit to the main interface.
7.7.1.1 “Brightness” Set the brightness of backlight
Navigate to "Brightness" using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to enter. Adjust brightness from 10% to 100% using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit.
7.7.1.2 "Auto off" Set automatic off time
Navigate to "Auto off" using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to enter. Select the automatic off time (OFF, 1-9 minutes) using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit. "OFF" disables the function.
7.7.1.3 “Clock setting” Set the clock
Navigate to "Clock setting" using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to enter. Select "12h" or "24h" format. Then, set the accurate time using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to save and exit.
7.7.1.4 "Theme" Set the theme
Navigate to "Theme" using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to select and save the desired theme (Sporty, Fashion, Technology).
7.7.2 "Display settings” Interface
From the "Quick settings" interface, navigate to "OTHERS" using [Up]/[Down] and press [Mode] to enter the "Display settings" interface.
7.7.2.1 “Trip reset” Reset the single-trip
Navigate to "Trip reset" and press [Mode]. Select "YES" (to clear) or "NO" (no operation) using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit.
Note: Resetting TRIP also resets riding time, average speed, and maximum speed.
7.7.2.2 "Unit” Select the mileage unit
Navigate to "Unit" and press [Mode]. Select "km" or "mile" using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit.
7.7.2.3 “Service tip” Set the service tip
Navigate to "Service tip" and press [Mode]. Select "ON" or "OFF" using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit. The "Service tip" indication flashes if ODO exceeds 5000 km.
7.7.2.4 “AL Sensitivity” Set light sensitivity
Navigate to "AL sensitivity" and press [Mode]. Select the sensitivity level (OFF, 1-5) using [Up]/[Down], then press [Mode] to save and exit. Level 1 is weakest, Level 5 is strongest.
7.7.2.5 "Boot Password" Turn on/off the password function
Navigate to "Boot Password" and press [Mode]. Set a 4-digit password using [Up]/[Down]. Select "YES" to save and exit. The HMI will request the password on power-on. The default password is 0000, and the default setting is OFF.
7.7.2.6 "Reset Password" Reset the boot password
Navigate to "Reset Password" and press [Mode]. Enter the old 4-digit password, then the new password, and confirm. Select "YES" to save and exit.
7.7.3 "Information" Interface
This interface displays information that cannot be changed.
7.7.3.1 "Wheel size” & “Speed limit"
View "Wheel size --inch" and "Speed limit --km/h" directly.
7.7.3.2 “Battery info”
Navigate to "Battery info" and press [Mode] to view battery temperature, cycle times, total voltage, current, residual capacity, total cells, full capacity, and relative charge state. Data may not be available if the battery lacks communication function.
7.7.3.3 "Controller info”
Navigate to "Controller info" and press [Mode] to view hardware and software versions.
7.7.3.4 "HMI info”
Navigate to "HMI info" and press [Mode] to view hardware and software versions.
7.7.3.5 "Sensor info”
Navigate to "Sensor info" and press [Mode] to view hardware and software versions. If the e-bike does not have a torque sensor, "--" will be displayed.
7.7.3.6 "Warn code”
Navigate to "Warn code" and press [Mode] to view warning messages.
7.7.3.7 "Error code”
Navigate to "Error code" and press [Mode] to view error codes.
7.7.4 "Language” Interface
Select the desired language (English, Deutsch, Nederlands, Français, Italiano, Čeština) and press [Mode] to save.
7.7.5 "Theme" Interface
Select the desired theme (Sporty, Fashion, Technology) and press [Mode] to save.
7.7.6 Navigation Mapping
This function is enabled when the HMI is used with the Bafang GO+ app. Navigation routes are displayed in real-time on the HMI. Refer to the Bafang GO+ App Operation Manual for details.
7.8 Error Code Definition
The HMI can display fault codes for the Pedelec. When a fault is detected, an error code will be indicated.
Note: Read the error code description carefully. If an error code appears, first restart the system. If the problem persists, contact your dealer or technical personnel. Refer to Appendix B for a detailed error code list.
