General Information

Fitting Additional Parts

The model includes an accessory bag, but not all parts may be needed. These parts are intended for showcase models, as fitting them may limit driving mode operation.

Mount the Closed Variant

From the factory, the model is fitted with an open folding guard (1) (not on all models), an open folding grille (2), and a transition plate (3). These can be replaced with the closed version.

Diagrams show the dismantling (1) and mounting (2) steps for the closed variant.

Wheels for AC/DC Operation

This wagon is supplied with insulated wheelsets for DC power supply. Wheelsets for AC operation can be exchanged at your BRAWA dealer or ordered separately (Order no.: 2187 Wheel with solid center set AC).

Oiling

The wheel bearings should be oiled regularly with fine model oil.

Couplings

The coupling is a standard NEM coupling, compatible with all other standard HO-gauge model railway couplings.

Scale and Safety Information

Scale and true-to-original small-sized models for adult collectors (H0 gauge). For operation, use only a toy transformer compliant with VDE 0570-2-7/DIN EN 61558-2-7:2008-06. This product conforms to current CE standards. Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste; follow local guidelines for proper disposal. This is a model building item, not a toy. Keep packaging for important information.

Fitting LED Lighting Board (Order no. 2212)

  1. Open the roof.
  2. Shorten the PCB to the length of the car.
  3. Solder the wires to the PCB as shown in the electrical connection plan AC or DC. Install and connect the power pick-up shoe for AC version (connection wire as per accessory table).
  4. Place the PCB with LEDs downwards into the car.
  5. Snap the roof into the correct position.

Diagrams show the electrical connection plans for DC and AC, illustrating track connections and wire assignments. Further diagrams detail the mounting of the LED lighting board and the AC pick-up shoe, including the holder for the AC pick-up.

Maintenance

Install the Function Decoder

  1. Open the roof.
  2. Unscrew the screws.
  3. Lift off the light guide plate with solder interface (1).
  4. Solder the function decoder (2) as shown in the AC/DC connection plan. For AC, install and connect the pick-up shoe (connection wire see accessory table).
  5. Place the light guide plate with solder interface (1) and function decoder (2) into the car.
  6. Screw in the screws.
  7. Snap the roof into the correct position.

A diagram illustrates the installation of a function decoder into the model, showing the light guide plate and the decoder.

Additional Information for Passenger Cars

The passenger cars feature a soldering interface on the lighting circuit board for installing a function decoder.

Function Decoder Interface

When installing decoders (FH22 for AC/DC, FH05B for DC), connect track right (TR, red wire), track left (TL, black wire), and function output (AUX1, green wire). Remove the 0-ohm resistor R5.

If a buffer capacitor is needed, connect V+ from the decoder (Pin 6, blue wire) and Ground (GND, Pin 5, brown wire).

F0_f (LV) and F0_r (LR) are for red tail lights. Remove R3 for LV and R4 for LR in digital mode.

For cars with open platforms, platform lights can be switched separately by connecting a wire from the decoder to AUX2 and removing R6. For baggage cars, the driver's cabin light can be switched separately by connecting a wire from the decoder to AUX3 and removing R7.

Diagrams illustrate the decoder interface, connection options for buffer capacitors for interior lighting (100 µF, 16 V for DC/AC) and function decoders (220 µF, 35 V for DC / 50 V for AC), and the placement of these capacitors.

A series resistor (e.g., 2.2 kOhm) is required for LED tail lighting.

Additional Information for Command Cars

All Versions

The control car is equipped with a PluX22 interface (NEM 658).

Version: Basic+ (analog DC)

In analog mode, white/red light change is active, and interior lighting is on. Function assignments for the FH22-4 decoder are detailed in the tables. Refer to 'Assignment of physical outputs' and 'Digitizing the analog Basic+ version' for decoder installation.

Version: Basic+ (analog AC)

Similar to analog DC, with white/red light change and interior lighting active. CV programming can enable additional functions for analog operation.

Version: Basic+ (digital AC)

Set to DCC mode with address 3 ex-works. Functions F1 to F4 are available.
