Aprilaire 8100 Energy Recovery Ventilator
Owner's Manual - Includes Safety, Operating, and Maintenance Instructions
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Aprilaire® Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) Model 8100. This unit is designed to enhance indoor air quality by removing pollutants and providing a constant supply of fresh air. The innovative EnergyMax® transfer core pre-heats or pre-cools incoming fresh air using the conditioned indoor air, reducing energy consumption for your heating and cooling systems. This ERV ensures a comfortable and healthy home environment year-round with minimal maintenance and quiet operation, and is designed for continuous use.
Indoor air can be significantly more polluted than outdoor air, posing health risks, especially to vulnerable populations like the young, elderly, chronically ill, and those with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions. The Aprilaire ERV helps mitigate these risks by managing indoor air quality.
This manual will familiarize you with the benefits of your new equipment and guide you through the required routine maintenance. Please register your warranty for your protection.

Maintenance Instructions

- EnergyMax® Transfer Core Cleaning: Annually, carefully slide the EnergyMax transfer core out by pulling at the four corners. Once completely dry, gently vacuum the air passages with a soft brush attachment, taking care not to damage the delicate surfaces. Slide the core back into the housing, pushing only at the four corners.
- Fresh Air Intake Vent: Check the fresh air intake vent (located outside) every six months and clean if necessary.
- Blower Compartment: Inspect blower compartments for debris buildup every six months and clean if necessary. The blower motor itself requires no maintenance.
