Setup and Connection
1. Insert Battery
Remove the battery cover. Insert one AA battery (alkaline, manganese, or Ni-MH rechargeable) according to instructions on the bottom surface, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Re-attach the cover.
2. Turn the Power ON
Slide the power mode selection switch to H (High speed mode) or L (Low energy mode). The LED lamp lights up red briefly. For wired connection, the mouse operates without batteries and power mode selection is not applicable.
- High speed mode: Offers enhanced tracking performance for fast movements, but reduces battery life.
- Low energy mode: Optimizes for longer battery life.
Note: When remaining battery is low, the LED blinks red.
3. Connecting to a PC
3.1. Wired Connection
Connect the attached USB cable to the USB microB port on the trackball. Connect the USB connector to the PC's USB port. The driver installs automatically. Note that 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections cannot be used simultaneously when connected by cable.
Caution: Ensure correct connector orientation. Forcible insertion may cause damage or injury. Do not touch the USB connector terminals.
3.2. 2.4 GHz Wireless Connection
Start the PC. Change the connection mode selection switch to "2.4 GHz wireless". Insert the receiver unit into a USB port on the PC. The driver installs automatically.
Note: The trackball enters energy-saving mode after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. Moving the ball restores it. Operation may be unstable for 2-3 seconds after waking up from energy-saving mode.
Caution: Ensure correct receiver unit connector orientation. Forcible insertion may cause damage or injury. Do not touch the USB connector terminals.
3.3. Bluetooth Connection
Change the connection mode selection switch to "Bluetooth". The LED indicator will be blue ?. Pairing methods may vary by PC.
For Windows 10:
- Click the "Start" button on the lower left of the screen, and click the "Settings" icon ⚙️.
- Click "Devices" > "Bluetooth & other devices".
- Click "Add Bluetooth or other device" ▶️.
- Click "Bluetooth".
- Hold the pairing button on the trackball for 2-3 seconds. The LED lamp blinks red ?.
- Select "DEFT Pro Trackball" from the list of devices.
- Click "Connect" and then "Done".
For Windows 7:
Note: Refer to your PC's manual or Bluetooth adapter manual. Pairing requires a Bluetooth 4.0 compatible adapter.
For macOS High Sierra (10.13):
- From the Apple menu, click "System Preferences..." ⚙️.
- Click "Bluetooth".
- Hold the pairing button on the trackball for 2-3 seconds. The LED lamp blinks red ?.
- Select "DEFT Pro Trackball" from the list of devices.
- Click "Connect".
Note: Requires Bluetooth 4.0 or later installed on the Macintosh computer.
How to Clean the Trackball
Use a finger or pen to push the ball out from the reverse side through the ball removal hole. Use a cotton bud or similar to remove dust accumulated on the three contact surfaces of the ball and around the optical sensor. Be careful not to damage the sensor.

Mandatory Actions ✅

Batteries
- Use AA alkaline, manganese, or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

- Do not mix battery types or old/new batteries.
Cleaning
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid volatile liquids (thinner, benzene, alcohol) as they may affect material quality and color.
Wireless Precautions
- This product uses the 2.4 GHz band and GFSK method. Interference distance is approx. 10m.
- Check for other wireless stations nearby. If interference occurs, change location or stop use.
- WARNING: Do not use in equipment where malfunction could cause serious effects. May be affected by other 2.4 GHz devices or mobile phones. Do not use in hospitals or where radio waves are prohibited. May affect electronic/medical devices (e.g., pacemakers).
- Aircraft Warning: Use of wireless mice is prohibited on aircraft. Turn off power before boarding and do not use onboard.
