Getting Started: Setup Guide
Step 1: Insert Cards & Power On
Upon powering up, the router broadcasts 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi signals with SSIDs: GL-AXT1800-xxx and GL-AXT1800-xxx-5G.
Note: Hot plugging a TF card is not supported. ?
The router features a TF Card or MicroSD Card slot (optional). After inserting any card, connect the power cable.
The router has ports for Power, USB 3.0, LAN Ethernet (multiple), and WAN Ethernet. It also includes a TF card slot and a Reset button.
Step 2: Connect to the Network
Choose your connection method:
Connect via Wi-Fi
Connect to the Wi-Fi network named GL-AXT1800-xxx or GL-AXT1800-xxx-5G. Enter the default Wi-Fi password found on the router's bottom label.
Connect via LAN
Plug an Ethernet cable from your computer into one of the router's LAN ports.
Step 3: Set Up Router
Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.8.1. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language and complete the setup.
Router Features and Indicators
The router's light indicator shows its status: a solid white light signifies normal operation. ?
Key components include:
- Power port: Connects to the power adapter.
- USB 3.0 port: For connecting USB devices.
- LAN Ethernet ports: For wired network connections.
- WAN Ethernet port: Connects to your internet source.
- TF card slot: For MicroSD cards.
- Reset button: Used for network repair or factory reset.
Troubleshooting and Reset
If you encounter issues accessing the setup page or connecting to the router, use the Reset button:
- Network Repair: Press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds, then release. The light will flash blue slowly until the network recovers.
- Factory Reset: Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds, then release. The light will flash blue rapidly. All data will be erased when the light turns solid blue.

GL.iNet offers a one-year limited warranty for routers and a three-month limited warranty for accessories. Local laws may provide additional warranty terms.

Usage Restrictions: Operation in the 5150-5250 MHz band is restricted to indoor use to mitigate interference with mobile satellite systems. Wireless Access Systems (WAS/RLANs) in the 5150-5350 MHz band are for indoor use only across all EU countries.
Frequency Bands: 2412~2472MHz (WIFI 2.4G); 5.15~5.25GHz, 5.25~5.35GHz, 5.47~5.725GHz, 5.725~5.85GHz (WIFI 5G).
