Before Installation
Congratulations on your purchase of a Voyager VOM73MMT LCD Observation Monitor. With proper installation and use, your VOM73MMT LCD is designed to provide you with years of trouble-free operation. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning.
All Voyager Observation products are intended as a supplement to standard rear-view mirror systems and are not substitutes for legally required vehicle equipment or proper defensive driving techniques.
Installation Warnings
RED POWER WIRE MUST BE CONNECTED TO ACCESSORY TO AVOID CURRENT DRAW WHEN THE KEY IS OFF.
Installation Location
It is unlawful in many jurisdictions to drive a vehicle with a screen visible to the driver forward of the driver's seat. The VOM73MMT is primarily designed as a rear observation device. Installation locations for displaying broadcasts or recorded video must comply with local laws and regulations.
Tampering
DO NOT OPEN THE MONITOR CASE to prevent electrical shock. The warranty is void if tampering is detected, and there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Moisture
The unit can withstand short periods of moisture exposure but is not designed for constant exposure or immersion. Never clean with a power washer or direct spray.
Depth of View
Objects viewed on the monitor appear closer than they actually are. Proceed cautiously when backing up.

Controls and Operation
The monitor features several control buttons:
- POWER: Press once to turn on; press again to turn off.
- MENU:
- Press to enter the System Menu.
- While in menu modes, press to return to the previous menu.
- Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate the Auto Scan function.
- SELECT:
- Press to switch camera channels (CH1, CH2, CH3) or display modes (e.g., SPLIT 3WAY H MODE, SPLIT 3WAY T MODE, SPLIT 2WAY).
- While in menu mode, press to select the highlighted function or option setting.
- UP / DOWN:
- Press to increase or decrease brightness, contrast, color, tint, volume, or sleep settings.
- While in menu modes, use to select option settings or adjust numerical values.
System Menu Navigation
The system menu allows for configuration of various settings:
Language
Navigate to 'LANGUAGE'. Use UP/DOWN to select ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH, or EXIT. Press SELECT to confirm.
Display Settings
Adjust BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, COLOR, and TINT (0-40). Use SELECT to choose a setting, UP/DOWN to adjust the value, and SELECT to confirm.
Mirror
Configure camera mirroring (ON/OFF) for CAMERA 1, CAMERA 2, and CAMERA 3. Use SELECT to choose a camera, UP/DOWN to toggle, and SELECT to confirm.
Option
Configure various options:
- VIEW MODE: CAMERA1, SPLIT, MULTI_T, MULTI_H, AUTO SCAN.
- PICTURE MODE: STANDARD, SOFT, VIVID, LIGHT.
- UNITS: FEET, METERS.
- KEYLED: MODE1, MODE2, MODE3, MODE4.
- DIM: DAY, NIGHT.
Use SELECT to choose an option, UP/DOWN to select a setting, and SELECT to confirm.
Cam Source
Configure sources for SPLIT (SOURCE1: CH1, SOURCE2: CH2) and MULTI (SOURCE1: CH1, SOURCE2: CH2, SOURCE3: CH3) views.
Auto Scan Delay
Set delay (0-10 SEC) for CAMERA1, CAMERA2, CAMERA3. Use SELECT to choose camera, UP/DOWN to adjust time, SELECT to confirm.
TRIG Dwell
Set dwell time (0-10 SEC) for CAMERA1, CAMERA2, CAMERA3.
Park Setup
Configure parking assist lines:
- LINE1 SETUP, LINE2 SETUP, LINE3 SETUP: Enable/disable lines.
- LINE1, LINE2, LINE3: Set ON/OFF status.
- LINE NUMBER: Select line type.
Reset
Press SELECT on 'RESET' to reset the system.
Installation Instructions
Before You Begin
Ensure no cables are behind drilling points. Secure wires to prevent damage. Keep cables away from heat, moving parts, and electrical noise sources.
Wiring Definitions
The wiring harness includes:
- Pin 1 (RED): Power IN DC (12V)
- Pin 2 (BLACK): GROUND
- Pin 3 (BLUE): CHANNEL 1 TRIGGER (CAM1)
- Pin 4 (BROWN): CHANNEL 2 TRIGGER (CAM2)
- Pin 5 (GREEN): CHANNEL 3 TRIGGER (CAM3)
Camera inputs are 4-Pin. The LCD panel uses a 13-Pin Large DIN cable.
General Installation
- Choose monitor and camera locations.
- Route cables through the vehicle. A 3/4" (19mm) hole may be required. Use grommets and protective tubing as needed.
- Temporarily connect all system components and perform a function check. Consult troubleshooting if issues arise.
- Secure cables away from hazards using wire ties.
Camera Connections
- Backup (Rear) Camera: Connect to CAM1 input. Trigger 1 connects to the reverse gear light circuit.
- Side Cameras: Connect to CAM2 and CAM3 inputs. Trigger lines 2 and 3 connect to turn signal circuits.
Typical System Connection
The system connects the VOM73MMT monitor via a 13-pin DIN connector to a cable harness that splits into three 4-pin camera connectors (CAM1, CAM2, CAM3). The wiring harness functions are defined as follows: Pin 1 (RED) for 12VDC power, Pin 2 (BLACK) for GROUND, Pin 3 (BLUE) for CAM1 trigger, Pin 4 (BROWN) for CAM2 trigger, and Pin 5 (GREEN) for CAM3 trigger.
