ProDriver4 (Windows)

ProDriver4 is a leading audio innovation for stage, studio, and streaming from ICON ProAudio. The ProDriver audio system provides reliable tools for various audio applications. Its driver employs breakthrough technology and zero-latency monitoring. The user interface allows easy routing and redirection of audio from any source via a virtual signal router. Use the ProDriver Plugin Host to connect VST, Audio Units, and Direct X plugins. ProDriver4 can run in standalone mode or with your favorite DAW, allowing you to save plugin chains as presets for recall during sessions or live performances.

Mixer Control Panel (Windows)

The ICON ProAudio audio interface driver includes two different audio drivers: "WDM" (Windows Driver Model) and "ASIO" (Audio Stream Input and Output). WDM is common for daily software like media players, while ASIO is preferred for recording software like LogicPro due to its lower latency, which is crucial for recording with plugins. If daily software does not support ASIO, WDM channels (Hardware channels) are used.

Terminology for channel types:

  • HW IN (Hardware Channel IN): Hardware input channels, including microphone or instrument inputs.
  • HW Out (Hardware Channel OUT): Hardware output channels, including headphone or line out outputs.
  • VC Out (Virtual Channel OUT): Exists only on ASIO driver; its output signal goes to ASIO VC IN.
  • VC Out (Virtual Channel IN): Exists only on ASIO driver; its input signal comes from ASIO VC Out.
  • LoopBack (LoopBack Channel): ASIO internal loopback channel (e.g., ASIO VC Out signal to ASIO VC IN).

The mixer control panel allows manipulation of four types of ASIO channels:

  • Duo22 Live Hardware Channels (HW In 1/2 & HW Out 1/2): The hardware input and output channels on the Duo22 Live.
  • Duo22 Live Virtual Channels (VC In 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6), (VC Out 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6): Virtual input and output channels related to WDM. For example, WDM Out 1/2 linked to VC In1/2, or VC Out1/2 linked to WDM In1/2.
  • Duo22 Live Loopback Channels (LB 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6): ASIO loop-back channels.

The mixer interface provides level metering for various channels, including:

  • HW Input 1/2 Level Metering: Shows hardware 1/2 input level.
  • HW Output 1/2 Level Metering: Shows hardware 1/2 output level.
  • VC In 1/2 (Virtual) Input Level Metering: Shows WDM 1/2 output level.
  • VC In 3/4 (Virtual) Input Level Metering: Shows WDM 3/4 output level.
  • VC Out 1/2 (Virtual) Output Level Metering: Shows ASIO 1/2 VC output level.
  • VC Out 3/4 (Virtual) Output Level Metering: Shows ASIO 3/4 VC output level.
  • VSC In 1/2 (Virtual) Input Level Metering: Shows WDM 1/2 output level.
  • VSC Music In 1/2 (Virtual) Input Level Metering: Shows WDM 1/2 output level (VSC music In 1/2).
  • VSC Out 1/2 (Virtual) Output Level Metering: Shows ASIO 1/2 VC output level.
  • VSC Music Out 1/2 (Virtual) Output Level Metering: Shows ASIO 1/2 VC output level.
  • Loopback 1/2: Shows ASIO loop-back 1/2 channel's level metering.
  • Loopback 3/4: Shows ASIO loop-back 3/4 channel's level metering.
  • Loopback 5/6: Shows ASIO loop-back 5/6 channel's level metering.

Controls include:

  • Link Switch: Adjusts both channels' levels simultaneously.
  • Mute Switch: Mutes the corresponding channel.
  • "0dB" Switch: Instantly adjusts the corresponding channel to "0dB" level.
  • Gain Control Fader: Adjusts the gain level for the corresponding channel.
  • Inputs & Outputs Matrix Switches: Turn On/Off input channel routes to output channels for flexible routing.
  • Mixer Presets: Six buttons for saving or loading routing channel settings.

Settings (Sample Rate and Latency Settings)

Click the "Settings" button to launch the settings window.

Sample Rate Setting

Select your desired sampling rate from 44.1KHz to 192KHz using the pull-down window.

Latency Settings

Choose from six standard latency settings: Safe (maximum latency), Extra Large, Normal, Small, Very Small, Minimum (minimum latency), or Custom for personalized values.

Adjustable settings for latency customization include:

  • ASIO Buffer Size: Values range from 32/64/128/256/512/1024/2048 and 4096.
  • Streaming Buffer Size: Adjustable settings include Minimum, Low, Normal, High, and Maximum.
  • Streaming Buffer Volume: Adjustable values are 2/3 and 4.

Note: If a warning message appears on the "Latency Status" window, select a larger latency setting. If a clicking sound occurs, try a larger buffer size. If the clicking persists even with the largest buffer size, it may indicate your computer's performance is insufficient for the task, not an issue with the Duo22 Live digital audio interface.

ProDriver4 Hosting Rack (Windows)

With the ProDriver4 Rack, you can use any of your plug-ins with your DAW or use the device as a standalone plug-ins effector without needing to run a DAW.

Hardware Connections

Connect the Duo22 Live digital audio interface outputs to your amplifier or powered monitors. If monitoring through headphones, connect them to the device's headphone output. Connect your microphone or guitar to the device's analog input.

PC/MAC Only Connection

Connect the Duo22 Live to your Mac/PC via USB.

Smart Device Only Connection

Connect the Duo22 Live to your smart device (iPad, iPhone, or Android) using the appropriate cable (Type C or 3.5mm TRRS) and potentially a power pack.

PC/MAC Smart Device Simultaneously Connection

Connect the Duo22 Live to both your Mac/PC via USB and your smart device (iPad, iPhone, or Android) using the appropriate cable (Type C or 3.5mm TRRS), potentially with a power pack.

Different Types of Microphone Connection

Dynamic Microphone Connection: Use a 1/4" TR unbalanced cable for the instrument input or an XLR balanced cable for the microphone input. Ensure the +48V phantom power switch is "OFF" before plugging in a dynamic microphone to prevent damage.

Condenser Microphone Connection: Use an XLR balanced cable for the microphone input. For condenser microphones, the +48V phantom power switch should be turned "ON".
