Somfy Smoove 1 & 4 RTS Controllers

The Smoove 1 RTS controls a single group of window coverings. The Smoove 4 RTS controls up to four different groups of window coverings.
1. Introduction
Smoove 1 RTS
The Smoove 1 RTS is a wall-mounted controller for Somfy RTS (Radio Technology Somfy) enabled window coverings. It features the following controls:
- A. Button: Used for raising, switching on, or opening/tilting the window covering.
- B. "my" button: Used to stop the window covering or go to a favorite preset position.
- C. Button: Used for lowering, switching off, or closing/tilting the window covering.
- D. Channel selection indicators: Lights indicating the currently selected channel.
- E. Programming (PROG) button: Located on the backside of the unit, used for pairing and configuration.

Smoove 4 RTS
The Smoove 4 RTS offers control for up to four different groups of window coverings. It shares similar functionality with the Smoove 1 but adds channel selection capabilities. It features:
- A. Button: Raise, switch on, open, tilt.
- B. "my" button: Stop, go to favorite position.
- C. Button: Lower, switch off, close, tilt.
- D. Channel selection indicators: Multiple indicators to show the active channel.
- E. Programming (PROG) button: Located on the backside of the unit.

2. Installation
The Smoove RTS can be installed on a clean, flat interior wall within 35 feet of the window coverings.
Components:
- A. Mounting frame: A rectangular plastic bracket with four screw holes at the corners, designed for wall attachment.
- B. Smoove frame: The decorative outer frame that attaches to the mounting frame.
- C. Smoove 1 or 4 module: The main control unit that clips into the assembly.
Installation Steps:
- Install the mounting frame using the provided countersunk screws into the corners of the plate on the wall.
- Snap the Smoove frame onto the mounting plate, ensuring the notch faces downward.
- Clip the Smoove RTS module onto the assembly.
- The product can also be mounted using double-sided tape (e.g., 3M tape).
? Note: Locating the module near a metal frame or surface may impede the product's operation.
3. Operation for Smoove 1
The Smoove 1 allows for easy control of your window coverings.
Pairing a Smoove 1 to a Window Covering
- Press and hold the Programming (PROG) button on the window covering motor until the covering moves up and down. Note: You have 2 minutes to complete RTS programming.
- Press the Programming (PROG) button (E) on the back of the Smoove 1 until the window covering begins to move up and down.
- The Smoove 1 is now paired with the window covering motor.
Daily Use
- To open or close the window covering, press the ⬆️ (A) or ⬇️ (C) button on the Smoove 1.
- To stop the window covering at a specific position, press the ⭐ ("my") button (B).
Creating Preset Positions
To create a preset position:
- Adjust the window covering to the desired position.
- Press the ⭐ ("my") button on the Smoove 1 until the window covering moves up and down. The preset is now activated.
To delete a preset position:
- Press the ⭐ ("my") button. The window covering will move to the preset position.
- Press the ⭐ ("my") button again until the window covering moves up and down. The preset position has been deleted.
Daily Use of Preset Positions
- Briefly press the ⭐ ("my") button. The window covering will move to the preset position.
4. Operation for Smoove 4
The Smoove 4 operates up to four different groups of window coverings. You build these groupings as you pair your Smoove 4 to each window covering controller.
Pairing a Smoove 4 to a Window Covering and Creating Channels
- Press and hold the Programming (PROG) button on the window covering motor until the covering moves up and down. Note: You have 2 minutes to complete RTS programming.
- Assign the window covering to a channel by selecting that channel (D) on the Smoove 4.
- Press the Programming (PROG) button (E) on the Smoove 4.
- The window covering will move up and down, indicating a successful pairing.
- Repeat this procedure for all window coverings, assigning them to channels.
To Remove or Change a Channel:
- Press the Programming (PROG) button on the window covering motor.
- Press the channel button (D) on the Smoove 4 to which the window covering is assigned.
- Press the Programming (PROG) button (E). The window covering will move up and down, indicating it is now removed from the Smoove 4 and its assigned channel.
Daily Use
- Select a channel, then press the ⬆️ (A) or ⬇️ (C) to open or close the window covering.
- To stop the window covering at a specific position, press the ⭐ ("my") button (B).
Creating Preset Positions
To create a preset position:
- Press the channel number (E).
- Adjust the window coverings to the desired position.
- Press the ⭐ ("my") button (B) until the window coverings move up and down. The preset is now activated.

5. Battery Replacement
Follow these steps to replace the battery in your Smoove controller:
- Unclip the frame using a small flathead screwdriver to open it, engaging the small groove shown in the diagram.
- Remove the old battery and insert a new CR 2430 3V battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
- Replace the frame and module onto the mounting frame by pressing them back into their original position.

6. Troubleshooting

7. Replacing a Lost or Broken Smoove 1 or 4 Controller
To replace a lost or broken remote, follow these steps with the new transmitter:
- Press and hold the Programming (PROG) button on the window covering motor until the window covering moves up and down.
- Press the Programming (PROG) button (E) on the back of the new Smoove 1 (or 4) until the window covering begins to move up and down.
- The new Smoove controller is now paired with the window covering motor.
- Follow the installed motor's steps to set the upper and lower limits.
