Introduction and Safety Warnings
This manual provides instructions for your Stack-On safe, covering installation, operation, security, and warranty information.
⚠️ Tip Over Hazard
A child or adult can tip the safe and be killed or seriously injured. Failure to secure the safe as shown in these instructions can result in death or serious injury to children and adults. Children should not play with or around the safe at any time.
IMPORTANT
- Record the serial number from the tag on the back of the safe or from the tag on the front bottom corner of the safe.
- Keep keys and combination in a secure place away from children.
- Do not store the back up key, your combination, or this document in the safe.
- Warning: Keep your safe closed and locked at all times when not in use. Children could accidentally be locked inside the safe.
- Do not move this safe using its handle. The handle should only be used for opening and closing the door of the safe.
- Do not store electronic media, computer disks, audio-visual media, or photographic negatives in this safe. This material will not survive the rated internal temperature of the safe and may be damaged or destroyed.
NOTE: You can store your Key #, Serial #, and Combination on Stack-On's SECURE web site www.stack-on.com under Customer Service. Storing this information will provide instant access should you ever lose your keys or combination. Only you will have access to this information.

Battery Installation
You must first install the battery which is located in the front protective styrofoam.
NOTE: When changing the battery, always hold the battery connecting cap while disconnecting or attaching the battery. Do not pull on the wires, as this could cause the power supply to become disconnected from the lock.
This safe uses one 9V alkaline battery. Under normal use, the battery will last about 1 year.
When the battery is low and you press a button on the keypad, a red light will come on warning you that the battery is low.
To replace the battery, remove the cover by pressing the tab and turning the cover as shown in the illustration. Replace the old battery and screw the cover back in place.
[Text description of keypad and battery cover: A numeric keypad (0-9, *, #, TAB) with a small tab labeled 'TAB' on the cover.]
Electronic Lock Operation
After installing the battery, to open an electronic lock the first time, press the following numbers/symbols on the electronic keypad in this order: 1 - 5 - 9 - #. These numbers are preset.
NOTE: You should change the entry code as soon as possible after opening the safe to insure proper security.
After you have entered the factory code, you will need to turn the handle clockwise to open the door. You will have 5 seconds to turn the handle before the locking mechanism is reactivated.
Entering Your Security Code
To enter your own security code, follow these steps:
- After opening the electronic safe (with the preset factory code of 1 - 5 - 9 - #), locate the small red button on the inside of the door near the hinge.
- Press and release the red button; you will hear a beep. The yellow light on the faceplate will activate and stay on for a period, allowing you to enter your code. You can only enter your code while the yellow light is on.
With the door open and the yellow light on, enter your personal security code (3-8 digits long) and confirm by pressing the " * " symbol on the electronic touchpad.
DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THAT YOUR NEW SECURITY CODE HAS BEEN ENTERED CORRECTLY.
Before closing the door, test the new security code to ensure the lock releases the handle, allowing you to retract the live action bolts.
If the code fails, repeat steps 1 and 2. If the code works successfully, record your combination number on the front of this form or store your combination on our secure website at www.stack-on.com under Customer Service. If you write down your combination, keep it in a secure place, away from children, and not inside the safe. Then, close and lock the safe.
In the future, when you open the safe, enter your set security code followed by the " # " symbol.
If an incorrect security code is entered 3 times, there will be an automatic lockout for 20 seconds before you can try again. If an incorrect security code is entered 3 additional times, there will be a 5-minute lockout before you can try again.
Locking the Safe
To lock the safe, close the door and rotate the handle counter-clockwise until it stops. If the handle is not turned until it stops, the locking mechanism will not engage.
NOTE ON LOCKING THE SAFE: Because the locking mechanism is deactivated for approximately 3 to 6 seconds after the combination is entered, wait a minimum of 6 seconds from the time the combination is entered to lock the safe.
Keypad Sound Control
You can turn off the "Beep" sound of the keypad by entering the code *633
.
To turn the "Beep" sound back on, enter the code *66
.
Selecting a Location
The safe must be mounted to the floor. For optimal safety and security, the safe should be installed adjacent to a side wall with minimal space on either side, in an isolated, dry, and secure area.
The safe should be flat against the wall and floor. Remove the baseboard if necessary.
⚠️ CHILDREN SHOULD NOT PLAY WITH OR AROUND THE SAFE AT ANY TIME.
Securing the Safe (Mounting)
NOTE: The safe must be secured to the floor. Use the hardware provided or consult your hardware retailer for fastening hardware suitable for your particular mounting surface.
NOTE: This safe must be mounted to the floor. Failure to do so will compromise the safety and security of the safe.
To secure your safe to the floor, it will first be necessary to drill pilot holes through the fire insulation in the floor of the safe. First, place the safe in the desired location. Lift the bottom carpeting to find the two hole locations marked on the floor insulation. Drill holes through the insulation using the same diameter drill bit as the diameter of the mounting hardware you are using.
IMPORTANT: The fasteners you use must completely fill the hole drilled into the insulation (Figure 1). You must use the fasteners after you drill the holes. Failure to do so will void the fire rating.
[Text description of Figure 1: A diagram showing a drill bit creating a pilot hole in insulation.]
Use these holes to fasten the safe to the floor. Drill pilot holes into the floor of appropriate diameter and depth, depending on the type of hardware and floor surface being used (Figure 2).
[Text description of Figure 2: A diagram showing fasteners being used to secure the safe to the floor.]
Secure the safe with the fasteners and replace the carpeting.
Back Up Key
A "Back Up Key" has been provided in case you have forgotten or lost your security code. To open the safe using the back up key, follow these steps:
- Remove the cover by pressing the tab and turning the cover as shown in the illustration. The lock can hang by the connecting cable while unlocking the safe.
- Insert the key in the keyhole and turn clockwise 1/4 turn (until stopped) to unlock the safe. Rotate the handle and open the door.
- Keep the door open until you have entered a new security code. Before entering your new code, remove the key and screw the cover back in place.
- Enter your new security code following the instructions for entering your security code.

Optional Accessories (Select Models only)
Installation of Scope Stand-Off
NOTE: The scope stand-off will function properly for many combinations of guns with scopes. Screw the scope stand-off into the pilot hole of the barrel rest.
[Text description of scope stand-off diagram: A bracket with a screw, designed to attach to a barrel rest.]
Shelves
The shelves can be installed by locating the shelf clips to the desired location and setting the shelf in place.
Door Organizer Accessories
Your door organizer provides a variety of storage options for your supplies.
Note: Securely attach the pistol holsters to the back panel before you holster your pistol. Make sure the door accessories do not interfere with items in the safe or when closing the safe door.
