Register Your ICON ProAudio Product

Registering your product ensures you receive the latest updates and support.

1. Check Serial Number of Your Device

Go to iconproaudio.com/registration or scan the provided QR code. Input your device's serial number and personal information, then click "Submit". Confirm registration or contact after-sales service if needed.

2. Log In or Sign Up

For existing users, log in with your username and password. New users should click "Sign Up" and fill in the required information.

3. Download Useful Materials

Your registered devices will list available files, including drivers, firmware, and user manuals in various languages. Download necessary files, such as drivers, before device installation.

Front Panel Layout

The front panel features the following controls:

1. 25/37/49/61/88-note key switches

Velocity-sensitive piano-action key switches.

2. Dual function encoders

Act as both push-buttons and rotary controls. Used for changing modes, adjusting parameters like pan, send level, or plug-in settings.

3. Encoder LED

An 11-LED ring around the encoder indicates its relative rotational position.

4. Modulation jog wheel

Rotate to adjust the modulation effect.

5. Pitch jog wheel

Rotate to adjust the pitch bend. Returns to default "0" when released.

6. Octave buttons

Raise or lower the pitches played on the keyboard.

7. Transpose button

Used in conjunction with Octave buttons to raise or lower pitches by less than an octave. Press and hold "Transpose" while pressing a keyswitch to set the C1 to that key.

Rear Panel Layout

The rear panel includes the following connections:

1. Expression Pedal Input

A standard expression pedal can be connected via this 1/4" input.

2. Sustain Pedal Input

This 1/4" jack connects to a momentary footswitch, like a piano's sustain pedal. The sustain pedal connector polarity can be reversed using the provided iMap software.

3. Midi Out Port

Use this terminal to connect an external synthesizer or sound module.

4. USB port

Functions as a MIDI port for your computer and compatible software. Also provides power to the iKeyboard Nano.

5. 7V/1A DC power adapter connector

Connect an optional 7V/1A DC power adapter here.

6. Power switch

Turns the iKeyboard Nano on or off.

Getting Started

Connecting Your iKeyboard Nano Controller

  1. Connect the iKeyboard Nano to your Mac/PC via the USB port. Your computer should automatically detect the new hardware.
  2. Setup your DAW: Activate the ICON iKeyboard Nano controller in your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or MIDI software using "MIDI Setup" or "MIDI Devices".

Software Installation

Download Drivers

Download the Windows driver from the "Personal User Page" at www.iconproaudio.com. After downloading, run the driver file to start the installation process.

iMap™ Software for Mac OS X

Follow the on-screen instructions to launch your iMap™ software. To create a shortcut, drag and drop the "iKeyboard Nano" icon into the "Applications" folder.

Installing iMap™ Software for Windows

  1. Turn on your PC.
  2. Download the Windows driver from www.iconproaudio.com and start the installation.
  3. Follow the Setup Wizard: click "Next" through the prompts, choose an installation location, and select Start Menu shortcuts.
  4. The installation will proceed. Click "Finish" to complete the iMap™ software installation.

iMap™ Functions

Assigning MIDI Functions with iMap™

Use iMap™ to easily assign MIDI functions to your iKeyboard Nano. Ensure the iKeyboard Nano is connected to your Mac/PC via USB. If not connected, a "There are no MIDI input devices" message will appear.

iMap™ iKeyboard Nano Software Panel

The iMap software is divided into two main sections:

Section 1: Keyboard Elements Assignment

This section allows assignment of key switches, velocity curve, modulation/pitch jog wheel, Sustain & Expression pedals, Transpose & Octave buttons. Select a control and assign a MIDI message using the "MIDI Channel" and "CC Value" dropdown menus.

1.1 MIDI Channel

Assign MIDI channel from 0-16.

1.2 CC Value

Assign MIDI CC value from 0-127.

1.3 Velocity Curve

Select the available velocity curve for your keybed. Refer to page 19 for velocity curve diagrams.

1.4 Sustain Pedal

Option to reverse the sustain pedal connector polarity. Refer to page 18 for details.

Section 2: General Settings

2.1 "Save file" button

Click to save your current settings for the iKeyboard Nano as an "iKeyboard Nano" file.

2.2 "Load file" button

Click to load a previously saved ".iKeyboard Nano" setting file.

2.3 "Send Data" button

Uploads the iMap™ software settings to your iKeyboard Nano via USB connection. Ensure the device is connected.

2.4 "MIDI Devices" button

Opens a MIDI device selection window. Select "ICON iKeyboard Nano" for MIDI Out Devices and MIDI In Devices.

2.5 "Firmware Upgrade" button

Accesses the firmware upgrade window for the iKeyboard Nano. Refer to page 15 for the upgrade procedure.

Firmware Upgrade Procedure

Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware:

Connect the iKeyboard Nano directly to your computer via USB (do not use a hub). Ensure the power supply is connected if applicable. Do not touch the device during the firmware update process.

In the iMap software, click the "Firmware Upgrade" button. Select your ICON device, click "Connect", then "Erase", "Activate", "Select Version" (to choose the firmware file), and finally "Upgrade" to start the upload.

Settings Management

Restore Factory Default Settings

To restore factory default settings, import the "Factory Default" setting file into your iKeyboard Nano using the iMap software.

Reverse Sustain Pedal Connector Polarity

If your sustain pedal exhibits opposite reactions, you can adjust its polarity in iMap:

  1. Launch iMap, click the "MIDI Devices" button, and select your iKeyboard Nano or USB Audio Device.
  2. Click the "Sustain Pedal" logo and select "reverse" from the left-side dropdown menu.
  3. Click the "Send Data" button to upload the settings to your iKeyboard Nano.
  4. Close iMap software.

Velocity Curve Options

The manual illustrates seven different velocity curves (Curve 1 through Curve 7). These are presented as line graphs showing how key velocity input translates to output, allowing users to select a preferred response characteristic.
