GUIDE FOR OPERATION
PI THERMO CONTROL PANEL
Stoves 800 DSL, 85 DT/NDT, 88 DU
Please Refer to Manual for Full Operation and Maintenance Instructions at wallas.com
IGNITION
Press the [Power Button] for 3 seconds until the [Yellow Power Light] comes on. When you release the button, the [Yellow Heating Light] will appear.
The [Red Combustion Light] will light up when the burner flame has been ignited and combustion has stabilized (approx. 5 min). The stove will be fully operational about 10 min later.
The stove is set to always start in Manual Mode, ready for cooking.
COOKING
In Manual Mode, turn the [Temperature/Power Knob] to max level 6 and begin cooking. Adjust it to a lower temperature, if needed, as you would a domestic stove.
When Manual Mode for cooking is on, the [Orange Thermostat Light] is off.
HIGH ALTITUDE MODE
When the device is used at 1500 m (4,900 ft) above sea level, it is necessary to activate the High Altitude Mode to adjust combustion.
Start the stove by holding the [Power Button] down for 10 seconds.
The [Yellow Heating Light] will flash 3 times and then change to a solid yellow light. High Altitude Mode is now on, and the stove has started the ignition process.
SHUTDOWN
Press the [Power Button] down for 2 seconds.
The [Yellow Heating Light] will shut off immediately.
The [Red Combustion Light] will continue to flash for about 5 minutes while the stove is cooling down. The heater cannot be restarted until the cool-down is completed.
Control Panel Diagram
Diagram of the Wallas PI Thermo Control Panel. It shows a central control unit with a circular dial marked 1 through 6. Key components are labeled: 1. Combustion indicator, 2. Temperature/Power knob, 3. Power button, 4. Power indicator, 5. Thermostat/blower lid indicator, 6. Thermostat sensor, 7. Heating indicator. The dial also displays temperature settings corresponding to ambient temperatures, such as ~5°C (41°F) to ~35°C (95°F).
SUN SWITCH (IN PI THERMO MODE)
The Sun Switch automatically turns the blower lid heater off if the temperature remains +3°C (37°F) above the set level for 1/2 hour due to temperature increase in weather.
The [Orange Thermostat Light] will begin to flash every 30 seconds.
Turn the [Power Knob] slightly to turn the Sun Switch off temporarily.
If heating is still needed, turn the device back on manually. [See ignition]
HEATING WITH BLOWER LID
Once the stove is fully ignited, lower the blower lid down until it locks, and the device will begin to blow warm air for heating.
To switch back to cooking, unlock the lid and push it back to the upward position. Make sure the stove is in Manual Mode before cooking.
The stove does not operate correctly if it is left in PI Thermo Mode.
PI Thermo Mode: Set a target temperature (Celsius/Fahrenheit).
Manual Mode: Control heating power with knob.
Rotate the [Temperature/Power Knob] to the desired temperature (refer to temperature chart on the first page) or heating power.
Switch between modes by turning the [Temperature/Power Knob] back and forth to min - max - min.
When the PI Thermo Mode is chosen, the [Orange Thermostat/Blower Lid Light] is on.
In Manual Mode, the light is off.
PANEL LIGHTS
- Heating on: [Yellow Heating Light] solid.
- Heating on in High Altitude Mode: [Yellow Heating Light] flashes 3 times.
- Combustion has begun/is running: [Red Combustion Light] solid.
- Cooldown/Flameout: [Red Combustion Light] flashes.
- Set temperature on heater is higher than cabin temperature - power is increasing: [Orange Thermostat Light] solid.
- Set temperature on heater is lower than cabin temperature - power is decreasing: [Orange Thermostat Light] flashing.
- Sun Switch has shut down the device: [Orange Thermostat Light] flashes every 30 seconds.
- Low voltage (usually about 15 sec after initiating start): [Yellow Heating Light] and [Red Combustion Light] flashing.
- Overheat: [Red Combustion Light] flashing rapidly.
- Reminder indicating there was a fault after fault code flashed for 5 min: [Red Combustion Light] flashing with a specific pattern.
- Locked for security: The device locks itself after two unsuccessful starts. [Red Combustion Light] and [Yellow Heating Light] flashing.
UNLOCKING
If the unit has locked itself, the [Red Combustion Light] and the [Yellow Heating Light] will flash, signaling a failure that should be investigated and resolved prior to further use. Lights will flash for about 5 min.
- While the lights are flashing, switch the main power off from the battery (Pull power plug, remove the fuse, open breakers, or in-line switch).
- Wait for 5 seconds and switch the main power back on.
- Press [Heat Button] (3) for more than 3 seconds to shut down the heater.
- Restart the heater normally.
