Installation Instructions

Choose a mounting location free from direct weather influences and ensure adequate ventilation, as the amplifier generates heat. Keep wire connections as short as possible to minimize power loss. Use standard gauge wires for power and speaker connections. Route cables away from ignition wires and dashboard modules to reduce interference. Install a fuse in the positive power cable within 18 inches (approx. 45 cm) of the battery.

Wiring Instructions

Power Connection

Connect the +12V [power terminal] to the positive battery terminal using a minimum #8 gauge wire. Connect the GND [ground terminal] to a metal part of the vehicle chassis using a minimum #8 gauge wire, ensuring a clean, short connection. Connect the REM [remote terminal] to the +12V output of the car stereo's antenna or accessory lead to enable automatic turn-on/off.

Speaker Connections

Wire speakers to the corresponding terminals, observing polarity. For stereo operation, use 2-4 Ohm speakers per channel. For bridged operation, use 4-8 Ohm speakers. Ensure speaker leads are not shorted.

Amplifier Bridging

Bridging combines two channels into one for increased power output. Connect the speaker to the designated bridged terminals (typically + on one channel, - on the other). Refer to specific model diagrams for correct connections and impedance requirements (usually 4-8 Ohms for bridged mode).

Operation

Gain (Input Level Control)

Adjust the gain to match the output level of your head unit. Set the head unit volume to about 2/3 of maximum. Slowly increase the amplifier's gain from minimum until distortion is heard, then reduce it slightly. This ensures optimal signal-to-noise ratio without distortion.

X-Over Frequency Control

This control adjusts the crossover point for the Low Pass (LP) or High Pass (HP) filter. The 'Full' setting allows the full frequency range to pass.

Bass Boost

The Bass Boost control allows for adjustable bass enhancement.

Fuse Replacement

If a fuse [fuse] blows, check for short circuits or incorrect connections. Replace the fuse only with one of the same amperage rating. Repeated blowing indicates an internal malfunction.

Troubleshooting

No Function:

• Check +12V [power terminal], GND [ground terminal], and REM [remote terminal] connections.
• Ensure fuses [fuse] are intact and correctly rated.

No Sound / Red LED Protection Shines [protect LED]:

• Check speaker connections for shorts or incorrect wiring.
• Ensure speaker impedance meets amplifier specifications (especially in bridged mode).
• Reduce gain if the unit is overloaded.

Poor Sound Quality (Distortions):

• Turn down the volume.
• Check speaker impedance and connections.

Interference:

• Ensure proper grounding for all components.
• Route signal, power, and speaker cables separately.
• Use shielded RCA cables.
• Consider an interference suppression choke if necessary.
