Product Overview
This document provides instructions for the BLOW Carplay 5.0 Video Recorder, model number 78-426#.

Power Supply and Rear Camera Connection
Power Supply
The device is powered via a USB Type-C connection, typically plugged into the vehicle's 12V accessory socket (cigarette lighter).
Rear Camera Connection
The rear camera connects to the AV IN port on the device. The system supports a 'Reverse trigger' function, which automatically switches the display to the rear camera view when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.
Main Interface
The main interface displays the current time and date. Key functions are accessed via touch icons:
- Volume Control [volume-icon]: Adjusts the audio volume.
- Brightness Control [brightness-icon]: Adjusts the screen brightness.
- Screen On/Off [screen-toggle-icon]: Toggles the display on or off.
- Time and Date [clock-icon]: Displays and allows settings for time and date.
- Mobile Link [carplay-icon]: Accesses Carplay, Android Auto, Apple Airplay, Android Mirror, Bluetooth music, and WiFi info interfaces.
- Bluetooth [bluetooth-icon]: Manages Bluetooth connections and status.
- Audio Out [aux-icon]: Selects the audio output mode (Speaker, FM, AUX, Bluetooth).
- Music Playback Controls: Includes icons for play/pause [play-icon]/[pause-icon], next track [forward-icon], and previous track [backward-icon].
- Recorder [recorder-icon]: Activates the video recording function.
- Replay [replay-icon]: Accesses recorded video files.
- Settings [settings-icon]: Opens the device settings menu.
Mobile Link Features
The Mobile Link feature allows integration with smartphones.
Carplay
To connect an iPhone:
- Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
- Connect the DVR's Bluetooth and wait 5-10 seconds.
- Your iPhone should display a prompt to use Carplay; select the option.
- Upon successful Carplay connection, Bluetooth will automatically disconnect, and the Carplay interface will be transmitted.
- Subsequent connections will be automatic if Bluetooth and Wi-Fi remain enabled on both devices.
Note: If you encounter iOS version compatibility issues, ensure the iPhone is connected to the DVR's Wi-Fi. If connection fails, manually remove the DVR's Wi-Fi connection from your phone and try connecting via Bluetooth again.
Android Auto
To connect an Android phone:
- Ensure your Android phone runs version 10 or higher.
- Install the Android Auto app from the Google Play Store in advance.
- Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both the DVR and your phone.
- Connect to the paired DVR via Bluetooth.
- After a successful Bluetooth connection, wait 10-15 seconds for the Android Auto interface to appear.
Apple AirPlay
To connect an iPhone using AirPlay:
- Ensure your iPhone is connected to the DVR's Wi-Fi network.
- Open the iPhone's control center and select the 'Screen Mirroring' function.
- Find and select the DVR (e.g., 'zj-airplay') to establish the connection and mirror your screen.
Android Mirror
To mirror an Android phone's screen:
- Scan the provided QR code on the device or documentation to download the necessary application.
- Enable your phone's mobile hotspot, preferably on the 5G frequency band.
- For the initial connection, tap the Wi-Fi icon on the DVR to input your hotspot information. The system supports numbers, English characters, and some special characters.
- Connect via Bluetooth to start screen casting.
Music Playback
The music interface provides controls for audio playback:
- Playback Status Bar [music-icon]: Shows current playback progress.
- Volume Control [volume-icon]: Adjusts audio volume.
- Previous Track [backward-icon]: Navigates to the previous song.
- Play/Pause [play-icon]/[pause-icon]: Starts or stops playback.
- Next Track [forward-icon]: Navigates to the next song.
- Bluetooth Status Interface [bluetooth-icon]: Accesses Bluetooth settings.
WiFi Info
The WiFi Info screen displays network details:
- Status: Shows if Wi-Fi is On or Off.
- SSID: The network name.
- PWD: The network password.
- Description: Instructions to download an app for remote real-time preview and control of the device's functions. A QR code is provided for app download.
Audio Output Options
The Audio Out interface allows selection of audio output:
- SPK [speaker-icon]: Sound output from the DVR's built-in speaker.
- FM: Stream audio to the car radio by tuning both the DVR and the car radio to the same FM frequency.
- AUX: Stream audio to the car's audio system using an AUX cable connected from the DVR's AUX OUT to the car's AUX IN.
- BT [bluetooth-icon]: Stream audio wirelessly via Bluetooth to the car's audio system. This option is typically used when Carplay or Android Auto are active.
Bluetooth Interface
The Bluetooth interface allows management of wireless connections:
- Control Bluetooth ON/OFF.
- Modify the Bluetooth device name.
- Connect and use the mobile phone via Bluetooth.
Recorder Function
The Recorder interface enables video recording:
- Pause Recording [pause-icon]: Pauses recording for 10 seconds before auto-resume.
- Take Picture [photo-icon]: Captures a still image.
- Lock/Unlock Footage [lock-icon]: Protects or unprotects the current recording.
- Toggle Audio [microphone-icon]: Turns the microphone recording on or off.
- Switch Camera [front-camera-icon]/[rear-camera-icon]: Alternates between the front and rear cameras.
- Return to Main Menu [home-icon]: Navigates back to the main interface.
- Return to Mobile Link Menu [carplay-icon]: Navigates back to the Mobile Link menu.
Replay Function
The Replay interface allows playback and management of recorded files:
- Play Recording [play-icon]: Starts playback of selected recordings.
- Normal Recordings List [recorder-icon]: View recordings not marked as EMR or Parking.
- Photo List [photo-icon]: View captured still images.
- EMR Recordings List [emr-icon]: View recordings made during emergency events (e.g., sudden braking or impact).
- Parking Recordings List [parking-icon]: View recordings made while the vehicle is parked.
- Return to Main Menu [home-icon]: Navigates back to the main interface.
- File Management: Moves normal files to EMR list or EMR files back to the normal list.
- Play/Pause Recording [play-icon]/[pause-icon]: Controls playback.
- Delete Recording [trash-icon]: Removes the current recording.
- Recording Files List [list-icon]: Displays all recorded files.
Settings Menu
The Settings menu allows customization of various device parameters:
- Carplay Position: Select display layout (Left, Right, Full screen).
- Parking Time: Configure parking monitoring duration (1, 2, 5, 10 hours, Never). Requires additional power connection for this function.
- Resolution: Set video recording resolution (4K, 2.5K, 1080P, 720P).
- Car OSD: Customize On-Screen Display settings, including text input.
- Loop Recording: Set recording interval for continuous recording (1, 3, 5 minutes).
- Screen Saver: Configure screen timeout settings (Off, 1, 3, 5 minutes).
- G-sensor: Adjust sensitivity for impact detection (Off, Low, Middle, High).
- Language: Select the user interface language from a list including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Hebrew.
- Lapse Record: Set frame rate for time-lapse recording (Off, 5FPS, 2FPS, 1FPS).
- Time Settings: Adjust date, time, and time zone.
- Date Format: Choose the date display format (YY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YY, DD/MM/YY).
- Format SD: Erase all data from the SD card.
- Reset Factory: Restore the device to its original factory settings.
- Version: Display software version information.
