Getting Started

Connect the scanner to your device via USB cable. For US keyboards, it is plug and play. For other keyboard types, refer to the "Keyboard Language" section to set the appropriate language before use.

Programming Codes

NETUM barcode scanners are factory programmed with common terminal and communication settings. To change these settings, scan the relevant barcodes provided in this guide. An asterisk (**) next to an option indicates the default setting.

Important Notes for Configuration:

Most configurations require the following sequence, except for Factory Defaults:

[Barcode: Enter Setup] → [Barcode: Programming Code] → [Barcode: ** Exit Setup]

Note: If the scanner has exited setup mode, programming codes cannot be read.

Factory Defaults

This function configures the scanner to revert all settings to their original factory defaults.

Keyboard Language Settings

Select the correct keyboard layout for your system. The default is US English.

To change the keyboard language, scan "Enter Setup" → "[Selected Language]" → "Exit Setup". After setting, position the cursor where you want to output data and begin scanning.

Enable All Symbologies

Enabling this feature allows the scanner to decode all types of non-programmed barcodes.

USB Interface Options

USB HID-KBW (Default)

By default, the scanner operates in HID mode, functioning as a keyboard device. It is Plug & Play and requires no driver installation.

USB COM Port Emulation

This feature allows the host to receive data via a USB connection as if it were a serial port. A driver may be required for this mode.

Scan Modes

Trigger Mode

Scanning this barcode enables the manual trigger mode.

Terminator Settings

Configure the terminating character suffix to CR or TAB by scanning the appropriate barcode.
