Procedure
Step 1: Preparation
Remove all contents from the box and verify all parts are present. Read these instructions carefully before starting the installation.
Note: It may be necessary to remove or relocate the front license plate and bracket. If required by local/state law, a license plate relocation kit is available.
Note: It may be necessary to remove the lower plastic portion of the bumper to access the frame rails. Indented pockets in the lower bumper may need to be cut out to allow the mounting brackets to pass through.
Step 2: Vehicles with Factory Tow Hooks
Remove tow hooks by removing the front bolt and loosening the rear bolt. Slide the tow hooks off. Retain the factory double nut plate in the frame, aligned with the holes.
Note: This Bull Bar is not compatible with factory tow hooks; they will not be reinstalled.
Position the mounting bracket against the bottom of the frame and secure it using the factory tow hook bolts and the factory double nut plate (Refer to Figure 1).
Step 2 (cont.): Vehicles without Tow Hooks
Starting on the driver side, insert one (1) 12mm Bolt Plate through the opening in the open front end of the frame and down through the rear hole in the bottom of the frame (Refer to Figure 2).
Thread one (1) 12mm x 30mm OD x 3.0mm Flat Washer, one (1) 12mm Lock Washer, and one (1) 12mm Hex Nut onto the threaded end of the Bolt Plate. Slide the slotted end of the driver side mounting bracket under the nut and washers.
Insert a second 12mm Bolt Plate through the remaining hole toward the front of the mounting bracket.
Secure with one (1) 12mm Lock Washer, one (1) 12mm x 30mm OD x 3.0mm Flat Washer, and one (1) 12mm Hex Nut. Snug but do not tighten hardware at this time.
Step 2 (cont.): Vehicles with "closed ends" on front of frame
Starting on the driver side, locate the two holes on the bottom of the frame. Insert one (1) 10mm U-Bolt into one hole and out the other (Refer to Figures 3A & 3B). This U-Bolt is only used on vehicles with "closed end frames".
Hold the driver side mounting bracket in position with the slotted end toward the rear. Secure the mounting bracket to the U-Bolt using two (2) 10mm x 30mm OD x 2.5mm Flat Washers, two (2) 10mm Lock Washers, and two (2) 10mm Hex Nuts (Refer to Figure 4). Snug but do not tighten hardware.
Step 3: Passenger Side Bracket Installation
Repeat the appropriate Step 2 for the passenger side mounting bracket installation.
Step 4: Attach Bull Bar
With assistance, position the Bull Bar on the inside of the mounting brackets. Use the included four (4) 12mm x 35mm Hex Bolts, four (4) 12mm Lock Washers, eight (8) 12mm Flat Washers, and four (4) 12mm Hex Nuts to attach the Bull Bar to the mounting brackets (Refer to Figure 5). Do not tighten at this time.
Step 5: Final Tightening
Align and adjust the Bull Bar properly, then tighten all hardware.
Step 6: Periodic Inspection
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight.
