I/O Ports Overview
The router features several ports on its rear panel:
- Power button: To turn the router on or off.

One Router Setup Steps
Follow these steps to set up your ASUS RT-AX88U Pro router:
01. Prepare your Modem
- Unplug the power cable from your cable or DSL modem. If it has a battery backup, remove the battery.
- Connect your modem to the WAN port on the back of the router using the provided network cable.
- Power on the modem by plugging it into a power outlet.
- Check the modem's LED lights to ensure the connection is active.
If you are using DSL for internet, you will need your username and password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to properly configure your router.
02. Install your Router
- Plug the power adapter into the DCIN port on the router and press the Power switch.
- The Power LED will light up, indicating the hardware is ready.
Setup Methods:
Via ASUS Router App
- On your iOS or Android mobile device, go to the app store, search for "ASUS Router", and download the app. [App Store logo] [Google Play logo]
- On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and connect to the default network SSID shown on the product label on the back of the router (e.g., "ASUS_XX", where XX are the last two digits of the MAC address). Alternatively, scan the QR code on the product label to connect to the default network SSID.
- Launch the ASUS Router App and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Via Web Browser
- Connect your PC to one of the LAN ports on the back of the router using an additional network cable. Alternatively, connect wirelessly to the network using the default SSID shown on the product label (e.g., "ASUS_XX").
- Open a web browser on your connected PC. You will typically be redirected to the ASUS Setup Wizard. If not, manually navigate to http://www.asusrouter.com.
- Follow the instructions in the setup wizard to complete the configuration.
