Making Home-made Fries

For best results, use pre-baked fries. If making home-made fries:

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into sticks.
  2. Soak sticks in water for at least 30 minutes, then drain and dry with kitchen paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix sticks with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil until coated.
  4. Remove sticks from the bowl, letting excess oil drain back. Place coated sticks in the basket.
  5. Note: Do not tilt the bowl to pour all sticks at once to prevent excess oil collecting in the frying tray.
  6. Fry potato sticks according to instructions in this chapter.

Cleaning

Clean the appliance after every use. The frying tray, basket, and interior have a non-stick coating. Do not use metal utensils or abrasive cleaners.

  1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Remove the frying tray to speed cooling.
  2. Wipe the exterior with a moist cloth.
  3. Clean the frying tray and basket with hot water, washing liquid soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. (They are dishwasher-proof).
  4. If dirt is stuck, fill the frying tray with hot water and soap, place the basket inside, and soak for 10 minutes.
  5. Clean the interior with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  6. Clean the heating element with a brush to remove food residues.

Storage

  1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
  2. Ensure all parts are clean and dry.

Disposal of Old Electrical Appliances

The European directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) requires that old household electrical appliances are not disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for correct disposal information.

Fresh potato fries are fried unevenly in the air fryer. You did not soak the potato sticks properly before you fried them.Soak the potato sticks in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes; take them out and dry them with kitchen paper.
You did not use the right potato type.Use fresh potatoes and make sure they stay firm during frying.
