Know Your Product

The Ryobi R18STL String Light consists of multiple light heads connected by a cable, powered by a battery pack inserted into a base unit. The base unit also features an On/Off button.

  1. Light head: Individual light units that provide illumination.
  2. Hook: An integrated hook on each light head for hanging the light.
  3. Battery port: The receptacle on the base unit where the battery pack is inserted.
  4. On/Off button: The control button on the base unit to power the light on/off and cycle through brightness settings.
  5. Key hole hanger: A slot on the base unit, approximately 78 mm wide, designed for mounting the unit on screws or nails.

Product Components Overview

The product includes three light heads, each with an integrated hook, connected by a flexible cable to a central battery base unit. The battery base unit is designed to accept a Ryobi ONE+ 18V battery pack (sold separately) and features an On/Off button. The light heads are designed for versatile positioning, including hanging via their hooks or mounting via the keyhole hanger on the base unit.

Operation

1. Battery Installation and Removal

To install the battery: Align the battery pack with the battery port on the string light base unit and slide it in until it clicks into place. Ensure it is fully seated.

To remove the battery: Press the battery release latches (if present) and slide the battery pack out of the port.

2. Operating the Light

The string light has multiple brightness settings controlled by the On/Off button:

  • Press once for High brightness.
  • Press a second time for Medium brightness.
  • Press a third time for Low brightness.
  • Press a fourth time to turn the light off.

3. Using the Hooks and Cable Management

Each light head features a hook for hanging. The hooks can be rotated to adjust the light direction or for compact storage. To manage the cable, wrap it neatly around the designated areas on the light heads or base unit. Avoid tangling or excessive coiling that could damage the cable.

4. Adjusting Light Heads

The light heads can be rotated and angled to direct illumination as needed. Gently pivot the light head on its mount to achieve the desired angle.

5. Mounting the Base Unit

The base unit can be mounted using its keyhole hanger. Measure 78 mm between two mounting points (e.g., screws or nails) to align with the keyhole slots on the back of the base unit. Ensure the mounting points are secure and capable of supporting the weight of the unit and battery. To mount: Align the keyhole slots on the back of the base unit with the pre-installed screws/nails and slide the unit down to secure it. Ensure it is firmly seated and does not wobble. To unmount: Lift the unit upwards to disengage from the screws/nails.
