3 Device Installation
The NVR requires a user-provided hard disk. Follow these steps for installation:
- Remove the screws securing the cover and take off the cover.
- Place the hard disk under the hard disk bracket, aligning the screw holes. Secure the hard disk with screws (install the disk nearest the fan first).
- Repeat step 2 for any additional hard disks. Connect the hard disk data and power cables. Replace the cover and fasten the screws.

4 Device Operation
4.1 Startup
Ensure the NVR is properly connected to power and a monitor is connected to the HDMI or VGA interface. Upon startup, a login window appears (Figure 4-1).
CAUTION: In environments with unstable power, the NVR may malfunction or be damaged. Using a regulated power supply is recommended.
Activation Interface (Figure 4-1): Set a new password for the device and channels. The default username is 'admin'.
Login Interface (Figure 4-2): Enter username and password. Users can set a pattern unlock for quick access. System display language can be changed on this window.
Password Requirements: 6-32 characters, including at least two types of numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, or special characters (!@#$*+-=_).
4.2 Topology of the NVR
The POE-type NVR supports direct connection and automatic IP address management for POE cameras. The NVR's web interface can be accessed via LAN. Figure 4-3 illustrates the network topology.

4.3 Special Function
Some functions, such as Microphone, Human thermometer, Smart, Intelligent Analysis, and Advanced Intelligent Analysis, are specific to certain cameras. Refer to the respective camera documentation for details.
4.4 Power off
To power off the NVR, navigate to Main Menu > System > Maintenance > Shutdown, or use the power switch.
4.4 Quick menu
Hover the mouse cursor over the bottom of the live video interface to access the quick menu. This menu allows for layout adjustments, split screen switching, auto sequencing, playback, and more.
5 Quick Configuration
After powering on the NVR, a wizard window will appear for initial configuration. This can be configured immediately or closed for later setup. For detailed configuration, access the main menu.
Right-clicking anywhere on the main interface opens the main menu, which includes settings for Channel, Record, Alarm, Network, and System (Figure 5-1).
Figure 5-1 Main menu
The main menu structure includes sections for Channel, Record, Alarm, Network, and System, with various sub-options within each.
5.1 Channel
Channel settings include Camera, Encode, Image, OSD, Privacy Zone, ROI, Microphone, Human thermometer, Smart, and Intelligent tracking. Users can add/delete cameras, configure encoding parameters (stream, resolution, frame rate, bit rate), adjust image settings, customize OSD (time and channel name), and set privacy zones (up to 4). Some settings can be copied across channels. Microphone, Human Thermometer, Smart, and Intelligent Tracking are model-specific features.
5.2 Record
Record settings cover Record Schedule, Disk, Storage, RAID, S.M.A.R.T, Disk Detection, Disk Calculation, and FTP. Users can set recording schedules and storage strategies. ANR (Auto Network Recording) allows recovery of lost recordings when camera connections are restored. S.M.A.R.T provides disk status information. Disk Detection checks disk health. RAID is recommended for data safety with multiple disks. FTP can be configured to save alarm information.
NOTE: Formatting a disk will erase all data. Power off the NVR before replacing hard disks. Use enterprise-level disks of similar capacity for RAID configurations. Ensure stable power supply for disk safety.
5.3 Alarm
Alarm settings include General, Motion Detection, Video Loss, Advanced Intelligent Analysis, Intelligent Analysis, Alarm In, Abnormal Alarm, Alarm Out, and Local Intelligent Analysis (Figure 5-2). General settings enable/disable alarms and set duration/buzzer. Motion Detection triggers alarms on movement, with configurable event actions (buzzer, push message, email, recording), detection areas, and schedules. Video Loss and Intelligent Analysis have similar settings. Advanced Intelligent Analysis is for thermal cameras (smoker, smoke/flame, fire spot detection). Alarm In/Out settings manage I/O alarms. Abnormal Alarm covers disk errors, IP conflicts, and network disconnections. Local Intelligent Analysis allows setting parameters for up to 4 channels.
