Installation Tips
- Do not face the camera towards any light sources.
- Avoid pointing the camera at a glass window to prevent glare from infrared LEDs, ambient lights, or status lights, which can degrade image quality.
- Do not place the camera in a shaded area and point it towards a well-lit area. For best image quality, ensure similar lighting conditions for the camera and the subject.
- Clean the dome cover periodically with a soft, clean cloth for optimal image quality.
- Ensure power ports are protected from water, moisture, and dirt.
- While the camera has IP waterproof ratings for rain and snow, it is not designed for underwater use.
- Do not install the camera where rain or snow can directly hit the lens.
- The camera can operate in extreme cold down to -25°C. It generates heat when powered on, so you may power it indoors for a few minutes before outdoor installation.
Install the Camera
- Place the mounting template on the ceiling and drill holes at the indicated locations.
- Use the mounting wrench to unscrew the dome cover.
- Screw the camera base to the ceiling.
- Loosen the two screws on the sides of the camera to adjust the viewing angle.
- Tighten the screws and screw the dome cover back onto the camera.
? NOTE: The installation methods shown are for the PoE camera but also apply to the WiFi camera.
Troubleshooting
Camera is not Powering on
If your camera is not powering on, try the following solutions:
For PoE Camera
- Ensure the camera is properly powered. PoE cameras should be powered by a PoE switch/injector, a Reolink NVR, or a 12V power adapter.
- If connected to a PoE device, try connecting to another PoE port.
- Try using a different Ethernet cable.
For WiFi Camera
- Plug the camera into a different power outlet.
- Power the camera using another working 12V 1A DC adapter.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact Reolink Support.
Picture is not Clear
If the camera's picture quality is not clear, try the following:
- Check the camera dome cover for dirt, dust, or spiderwebs, and clean it with a soft, clean cloth.
- Position the camera in a well-lit area, as lighting conditions significantly affect picture quality.
- Upgrade the camera's firmware to the latest version.
- Restore the camera to factory settings and check again.
