Foreword
Thank you for purchasing FiiO's high resolution lossless music player M11. To let you better utilize the M11 to enjoy high-quality music, we have prepared this complete user manual. We hope this manual will help you get to know the M11 and unleash its full potential.
Introduction
The M11 is a high fidelity, high resolution digital audio player, using Samsung 14nm Exynos 7872, Dual AK4493EQ DACs, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and supports dual external TF card storage (theoretically up to 4T extension). It is equipped with a 5.15-inch 18:9 HD display. With a deeply customized Android 7.0 and the professional custom music player "FiiO Music", the system runs at a fast and smooth speed with simple operation. It supports PO/LO/BAL (both 2.5mm and 4.4mm) / SPDIF Coaxial Output, and also supports USB DAC/USB Audio/Bluetooth receive functions. Wireless connectivity includes dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 protocol, as well as high-quality Bluetooth protocols such as aptX, aptX-HD, LDAC, and HWA. You can play music continuously for at least 13 hours, or leave it in deep sleep mode for 50 days to enjoy it anytime.

The device features the following buttons and ports:
- Power/Lockscreen: Located on the top.
- Play/Pause: A primary button for playback control.
- Volume wheel: For adjusting audio volume.
- Previous track: Button to go to the previous song.
- Next track: Button to go to the next song.
- Micro SD card slot 1: For external storage.
- Micro SD card slot 2: For additional external storage.
- 4.4mm balanced output: For balanced headphones.
- 2.5mm balanced output: For balanced headphones.
- USB transfer/Charging port: Type-C port for data, charging, and USB Audio.
- 3.5mm Headphone/Lineout/Coaxial output: A shared port for multiple audio outputs.
2. Buttons and Ports Explained
- 5.15-inch IPS Hi-Res incell screen (1440x720 pixels): Displays the user interface and other information; operated via screen touches and/or buttons.
- Power / Lock: Hold for 2s to turn on when powered off. Hold to display power off/reboot menu when powered on. Briefly press to turn screen on/off. Press and hold for 10 seconds to reset.
- Play / Pause: Press while playing to pause music; press while paused to continue playback.
- Volume knob: Scroll up to turn up the volume, scroll down to turn down the volume.
- Previous track: Short press to play the previous track; long press to quickly rewind the track.
- Next track: Short press to play the next track; long press to fast forward the track.
- Micro SD card slot: Supports dual external micro SD card storage (theoretically up to 4TB extension).
- Type C USB data/charging port: Used for charging, transmitting data, and USB Audio output. A QC2.0 adapter is recommended for charging, which can fill the battery in 2 hours.
- 4.4mm balanced headphone output: Supports 4.4mm TRRS balanced headphones.
- 2.5mm balanced headphone output: Supports 2.5mm TRRRS balanced headphones.
- 3.5mm PO/LO/SPDIF coaxial output: Shared Phone/line/coaxial output port. Switch between these outputs in M11 Settings -> Audio Settings -> Multifunctional Output.
CTIA-spec headsets with in-line remote control are supported with the following operations (single button remotes and main button of multi-button remotes):
- Volume Up/Down: Click to turn up/down the volume by one step; hold to turn up/down the volume continuously to Max volume/Mute.
- Play / Pause: Press the main button once briefly to toggle between play and pause.
- Next track: Double-click the main button quickly.
- Previous track: Triple-click the main button quickly.
Main Interface and Drop-down Display
The device features a graphical user interface with a main screen and a drop-down notification/quick settings panel.
Setting Interface
1. WiFi
The M11 can connect to the Internet or other network resources for music or Android functions. To connect to WiFi devices/hotspots:
- Tap 'WLAN' in settings.
- Slide the WiFi switch to 'ON'. The M11 will automatically search for and display available WiFi connections.
- Tap the name of the desired WiFi network and enter the password if prompted to connect.
2. Bluetooth
The M11 supports multiple Bluetooth codecs and both transmission and receiving, allowing for wireless expansion of its functions.
Using M11 as a Bluetooth Transmitter
To use the M11 with new Bluetooth devices (e.g., earphones, speakers, remote controls), pairing is required:
- Tap 'Bluetooth' in settings.
- If Bluetooth is off, turn it on using the switch.
- Tap "SEARCH FOR DEVICES" to find nearby Bluetooth devices.
- Tap the name of your Bluetooth device to pair. Paired devices appear under "PAIRED DEVICES".
Before connecting, select the desired Bluetooth audio code in Settings -> Audio settings -> Wireless Play. Disconnect the current connection and reconnect to your Bluetooth device.
Note:
- If already connected to one Bluetooth device, disconnect it before switching Bluetooth audio codes. LDAC modes can switch in real-time.
- When Bluetooth is turned on, the M11 automatically connects to the latest available device.
Using M11 as a Bluetooth Receiver
When connected to a new Bluetooth device (e.g., a mobile phone) as a receiver, turn on "Bluetooth decoding mode" in Bluetooth settings. The Bluetooth will turn off automatically; turn it on again to enter Bluetooth receive mode.
3. Audio
Multifunctional Output
Switch the output between PO (Phone Out), LO (Line Out), and SPDIF Coaxial.
SPDIF Coaxial Output
Choose between DOP and D2p modes. In D2P mode, DSD is converted to PCM output. In DOP mode, it outputs the original input (requires amplifier support for DSD to avoid noise).
Gain
Sets the gain level for headphone output: High (high volume) or Low (low volume).
Lowpass Filter Mode
Select from filter modes: Sharp Roll-Off Filter, Slow Roll-Off Filter, Short delay Sharp Roll-Off Filter, Short delay Slow Roll-Off Filter, Super Slow Roll-Off Filter.
Wireless Playback Quality
Select the desired Bluetooth audio encode when the receiver supports multiple options (e.g., BTR3).
USB Mode
Options include Storage and USB DAC. For Windows PCs, download the USB DAC driver from the FiiO website. MAC computers do not require a driver. Download Link: https://www.fiio.com/Driver_Download.
Channel Balance
Sets the volume balance between the left and right channels, with 21 settings from leftmost (L10) through centered (0) to rightmost (R10).
In-line Remote
Enable or disable response to in-line remotes on connected headsets.
ALL To DSD
In this mode, PCM is converted to DSD64 output.
Adjustable Volume at LO
Allows control over whether the volume through Line Out can be adjusted by the volume level (ON/OFF).
AirPlay
To use AirPlay:
- Connect both the M11 and your Apple device to the same WiFi network.
- Click 'AirPlay' on the M11.
- Click the device's AirPlay button and choose "FiiO Music Player" to connect.
Music played on your Apple device can then be listened to on the M11.
General Settings
General settings include Navigation control, Power-off timers, Key-lock Settings, Maximum volume setting, Fixed volume setting, and Double click to wakeup. Here are introductions to common functions:
Navigation Control
Choose between two operation modes: "gesture operation" and "virtual key".
Gesture Operation
Provides intuitive screen gestures for navigation:
- Return to previous menu: Swipe from the left or right edge of the screen to the center.
- Return home: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
- Switch to recent tasks: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and hold.
- Trigger in-app functions: Swipe from the left, right, top, or bottom edge of the screen to the center.
Power-off Timers
Includes "Sleep" and "Idle poweroff":
- Sleep: Automatically shuts down the device after a set time (0-120 minutes). Setting to OFF disables this function.
- Idle poweroff: Automatically powers down the device after a set time (0-50 minutes) when not in use. Setting to OFF disables this function.
Key-lock Setting
Choose which buttons/knob will take effect when the screen is locked.
Maximum Volume Setting
Set an appropriate maximum volume to prevent sudden increases and protect hearing.
Fixed Volume Setting
Set the appropriate boot volume. The default is 60.
Double Click to Wakeup
When enabled, double-clicking the screen can wake up the display.
Display Settings
Display settings include Brightness level, Wallpaper, Sleep, Screen saver, Font size, and Display size.
Sleep
Sets the time before the device enters sleep mode due to inactivity. After ten minutes in sleep, it enters low power mode. Short press the "Power/Lock Screen" button to wake up the machine.
Font Size
Choose from four font display sizes: Small, Default, Large, and Largest.
Display Size
Choose from four levels of display size: Small, Default, and Large. This setting affects the display icon and text size.
Language & Input
To change the device language:
- Navigate to Settings > General > Language & input > Languages.
- Press "Add a language".
- Select a language.
- Press the "=" icon next to the target language and drag it to the top of the list to set it as primary. Language switching is completed after this operation.
Backup & Reset
Network settings reset: Resets all network settings, including WiFi and Bluetooth.
Factory data reset: Erases all data from internal storage and restores original default settings. Backup important files in advance.
Firmware Update
You can select OTA update or local update.
- OTA update: Requires a stable Wi-Fi connection. Press the "check update" button; the M11 will automatically search for new versions online. If available, you will be notified, and the update can proceed.
- Local update: Follow these steps:
- Download the firmware (e.g., "M11-ota-1.0.5.zip") from the FiiO official website. Copy the file to a micro SD card without unzipping it. It is recommended not to modify the file name.
- Navigate to "Technical Support" > "Local upgrade". Locate the firmware file in the "Local upgrade" interface and press it.
Wait patiently after clicking; M11 will start the firmware update automatically. Upon completion, it will restart itself and can be used normally.
Notes:
- Ensure the battery power is sufficient before updating (full power is best), otherwise the update may fail.
- If the update fails, check if the correct firmware is used.
- Do not manipulate M11 during updating.
Status Bar
The status bar at the top of the screen displays various status information:
- 1 - Current volume
- 2 - Hide icons
- 3 - Running app

- 5 - Download completed
- 6 - Firmware update prompt

FiiO Music
The M11 includes FiiO Music, a professional audio playback software designed for Android and flagship music players. Main functionalities are introduced below.
1. Homepage
FiiO Music enters the homepage upon starting. Key elements include:
- Professional: Covers almost all audio formats.
- User-friendly: Tailored for audiophiles.
- Quality Sound: Powered by exclusive audio algorithms.
- Setting icon: Press to enter the setting page.
- Playing interface: Press to enter the playing interface.
- Recently played: A chronological list of recently played songs.
- Frequently played: A list of songs by playing frequency.
- Recently added: A chronological list of recently added songs.
2. Quickly Locate All Music
Slide on the letter bar at the right side of the touchscreen to display the corresponding initial letter. Slide over the alphabet list to quickly jump to songs starting with that letter.
3. Functionalities Corresponding to "All Songs" Interface
Tap the icon (⋮) at the right side of each track to show a hidden menu for operations like Add to Playlist, Check track info, Delete song, and WiFi music transfer.
Tap the hidden icon in the upper right corner of the "Local music" interface for functions like:
- Selected sort order: Sort by added time, first letter, or filename.
- Bulk management: Batched playback, WiFi transfer, adding to playlists, batch delete, and exiting batch operation.
4. Now Playing Interface
- Switching area: Click the center of the album cover to switch between cover and lyrics. Slide left/right to play the next/previous track.
- Play mode: Control playback modes.
- Add to Favorites: Add the current track to favorites.
- Current playlist: View the current playlist.
- Check current artist info: View artist details.
- Add to Playlists: Add the current track to playlists.
Adjusting the volume: Scroll the volume wheel; the adjustment bar appears on the right. It disappears after two seconds of inactivity or when tapping elsewhere.
Slide to fast forward/rewind: Tap anywhere on the progress bar below the album cover to jump to a specific part of the track. While in the lyrics display, you can adjust playback progress, lyrics timeline, or font size.
5. EQ (Equalizer)
FiiO Music has a built-in graphic equalizer. Choose from genre presets or adjust ten frequency bands (-12 to +12 dB) from 20 to 20kHz.
- Choose preset EQ: Swipe up to show the list of EQ presets and tap an icon to switch.
- Customize EQ: Drag frequency icons up/down to adjust the EQ curve. Swipe left/right to change pages in the frequency point area. Adjustments take effect simultaneously.
- Reset EQ: Tap the RESET button to reset the EQ preset to its genre default.
Note: A factory reset on the M11 will reset all EQ settings to defaults.
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated)
The M11 supports MQA technology, enabling playback of MQA audio files and streams, delivering the original master recording sound. The green or blue dot next to the MQA logo indicates decoding and playback status. A blue dot signifies an MQA Studio file, approved by the artist/producer or verified by the copyright owner.
