Installation Guide for Kia Forte (2014-2018 Push-to-Start)
Vehicle Compatibility
This guide is for the Fortin EVO-KEY installation on the following vehicles:

Note: To add firmware versions and options, use the FLASH LINK UPDATER or FLASH LINK MOBILE tool (sold separately).

Installation Overview
The installation involves connecting the EVO-KEY module to the vehicle's wiring harness. Key connection points include:
- Driver's Side Kick Panel: Access to various wiring harnesses.
- Fuse Box: Located within the vehicle's interior.
- Parking Lights Harness: Connection for parking light signals.
Refer to the wiring diagrams for specific connections.
Wiring Connections
The following connections are essential for the remote starter and immobilizer bypass:
- Ground: Connect to vehicle ground (e.g., chassis bolt).
- 12V Battery: Connect to a constant 12V power source.
- Ignition: Connect to the vehicle's ignition wire.
- Accessory: Connect to the vehicle's accessory wire.
- Starter: Connect to the vehicle's starter wire.
- Parking Lights: Connect to the vehicle's parking lights wire (negative trigger).
- (~)EMS COM: Connect to the vehicle's data communication wire.
Important: Always verify wire colors and functions with a multimeter before making connections. Use the provided diagrams for reference.
Programming Procedure
Follow these steps to program the EVO-KEY module:
- Preparation: Insert the 4-Pin Data-Link Connector. The LED should alternate between YELLOW and RED.
- Release Button: Release the programming button when the LED turns solid RED. If the LED is not solid RED, disconnect and repeat step 1.
- Connectors: Insert the remaining required connectors.
- Button Presses (7x): Press and release the programming button 7 times. The RED LED will flash 6 times and pause.
- Ignition ON: Do not press the brake pedal. Press the START/STOP button twice to turn ON the ignition. The RED LED will flash rapidly 10 times. This indicates key bypass programming.
- Ignition OFF: Press the START/STOP button once to turn OFF the ignition.
The module is now programmed. Use the remote starter or security system remote to test all features.
Remote Starter Programming Procedure
- Ensure all doors are closed.
- Start the vehicle remotely.
- Unlock the doors using the remote-starter remote.
- Enter the vehicle with the SMART-KEY.
- Press and release the Push-to-Start button once. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL.
- Press the brake pedal. The vehicle can now be put into gear and driven.
Note: If the Smart-Key is not detected, the vehicle will shut down.
