Important Information
Television Antenna Connection Protection
External Television Antenna Grounding
If using an outside antenna or cable system, ensure it is electrically grounded for protection against voltage surges and static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPSA 70) provides details on proper grounding of the mast, supporting structure, lead-in wire, antenna discharge unit, grounding conductors, and electrodes.
Diagram Description: Illustrates an antenna mast connected to a building, with a lead-in wire going to an antenna discharge unit. Grounding conductors connect the mast and discharge unit to grounding clamps and a power service grounding electrode system, which is part of the electric service equipment.
Lightning Protection
For added protection during lightning storms or when unattended for long periods, unplug the TV and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead light or power circuits, or where it could fall onto them.
Attaching or Removing the Stand
To attach the stand:
- Place the display unit flat on a table.
- Attach the stand onto the bottom of the TV set.
- Screw in the 2 screws to secure each stand.
Diagram Description: Shows the rear of the TV with the stand attachment points and screws.
