Resetting Your NVR Password
If you haven't configured a recovery email for your NVR, you can use SwannView Link to retrieve your recovery code and reset your password. Download the relevant version for your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 1: Launch SwannView Link
When you first run SwannView Link, you will see the following screen:
Your NVR will automatically be detected (top right corner). If an error message appears, it is normal. Click "OK" to continue. If your NVR does not appear, ensure it is connected to your router via the supplied Ethernet cable.
Step 2: Add Device to Retrieve Recovery Code
To retrieve your recovery code, click the "Add Device" button (blue). You will see the following screen:
Your NVR's MAC Address will be displayed. This is your recovery code. Write it down, including the colons (:).
Step 3: Enter Recovery Code on NVR
Right-click on the Live View screen to display the Menu Bar, then click "Menu". The login prompt will appear.
Click "Forgot Password". A message will appear on-screen:
Click "OK" to continue. The recovery code prompt will appear:
Enter the recovery code (MAC Address) into the dialogue box, for example, EC:71:DB:8D:3C:AB, then click "Enter". Click "OK" to confirm. A message will appear stating the password has been reset.
Click "OK" to continue.
Step 4: Create a New Password
You will now be prompted to enter a new password:
The password must be a minimum of six characters and can contain a mixture of numbers and letters. Choose a password you are familiar with but is not easily known to others. Write down your password for safekeeping. When finished, click "Save".
Click "OK" to finish. Remember to write down your new password.
