This Service Manual contains technical information to assist service personnel in understanding and servicing the Digital Camera DMC-FS12 series. The DMC-FS12 series has been developed based on the DMC-FS7 series. This manual does not cover parts already described in the Service Manual for the DMC-FS7 series. When servicing, refer to the descriptions in the Service Manual for DMC-FS7P/PC/PR/PU/EB/EE/EF/EG/EP/GC/GD/GJ/GK/GN/GT (Order No. DSC0902005CE) (Service Manual Vol. 1).

1.2. Important Notice 1: (Other than U.S.A. and Canadian Market)

When a part replacement is required for repairing the MAIN PCB, replace it as an assembled part. The following category is a recycle module part; please send it to the Central Repair Center: MAIN PCB: VEP56074F.

1.3. About the Lens Unit

Although this service manual (for DMC-FS12) is designed based on the service manual for DMC-FS7, the lens unit for DMC-FS12 is a single type. Therefore, only the defective part needs to be replaced. There is no need to distinguish lens types or limitations on replacement parts as described in the service manual for FS7. Refer to the "Disassembly and Assembly Instructions" and "Exploded views" for details.

2. Initial Settings

After replacing the MAIN PCB, perform the initial settings according to the model suffix of the unit. Ensure adjustments are made following the specified procedure.

2.1. Important Notice

Before proceeding with initial settings, carefully read the following CAUTIONS.
