Danfoss EKA 201 Mass Programming Key
Installation Instructions
Product Overview
The EKA 201 is a simple programming key designed for mass programming of controllers on an assembly line.
Supported Controller Types
- ERC 111, 112, 113
- EETA 2W and 3W
- ERC 211, 213, 214
- EKC 223, 224
Saving Configuration Files to EKA 201
- Connect the EKA 201 to a computer using the KoolKey (EKA 200) as shown in the diagram.
- Launch KoolProg. Navigate to the 'copy to device' option. Find the file/project (XML format only) to be loaded into the EKA 201 programming button and click 'start'.
- After the copy process is complete, disconnect the EKA 201 from the KoolKey. The programming key is now ready to program controllers.

Reading Configuration Files from EKA 201
- Connect the EKA 201 to a computer using the KoolKey.
- Open KoolProg and click 'Set Parameters'. Navigate to the 'Import from device' option.
- The parameter file saved in the EKA 201 will be loaded into KoolProg and displayed on the screen. The file can then be saved or edited on the computer.
Programming a Controller with EKA 201
- Turn on the controller. Ensure the controllers are connected to the power supply.
- Connect the EKA 201 to the controller using the appropriate interface cable.
- The EKA 201 device will automatically start the programming process.

Parameter File Transfer Steps and LED Indicators
Function | Operation | Illustration | LED Information |
---|---|---|---|
Power On | Connect the EKA 201 to the controller with power (programming mode). | Diagram: Shows EKA 201 connected to a controller. | The LED will slowly blink red, indicating the EKA 201 is powered. |
Write Function | Write functions are automatically initiated as soon as the EKA 201 device is connected to the powered controller. | Diagram: Shows EKA 201 connected to a controller, with an arrow indicating data transfer. | The yellow LED blinks rapidly, indicating parameter file transfer. |
Transfer Confirmation | Successful file transfer (write function may take up to 10 seconds). | Diagram: Shows a successful transfer icon (e.g., a checkmark). | Solid green light. |
Transfer Failure | File transfer failed (check connection and ensure a compatible programming file is saved in EKA 201). | Diagram: Shows a failed transfer icon (e.g., an 'X'). | The red LED blinks rapidly. |
Note: Do not leave the interface cable hanging on a radiator if it is connected to a live controller.
