How to Use
First Time Use
To use the data logger for the first time, install the Elitech software. Connect the data logger to a computer's USB port and follow the prompts to install the drive software. Once connected, the software will automatically upload information from the logger. You can then view this information and save configuration settings to calibrate the time.
Start the Data Logger
The data logger can be started in three modes:
- Instant-on: Recording begins immediately after parameter configuration and disconnection from USB.
- Manual start: After configuration, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to start. This mode supports a start delay function, where recording begins only after the set delay time has elapsed.
- Timing start: After configuration and disconnection from USB, recording commences at the pre-set time.
Stop the Data Logger
The data logger can be stopped using several methods:
- Manual stop: Press and hold the button for 5 seconds while recording, or use the software to stop it.
- Over-Max-record-capacity stop: The logger can stop automatically when the maximum capacity (32,000 points) is reached. This can be configured to allow manual stopping (via button or software) or to stop only via software.
- Stop via software: The data logger can be stopped at any time using the Elitech management software.
Note on Circular Recording: If the logger reaches its maximum capacity (32,000 points) and is not stopped manually, it will continue recording by overwriting the oldest data. It retains statistical information for the entire transportation process, but only the last 32,000 data points will have detailed records. Use manual stop with caution if detailed historical data is critical.
View Data
Connect the data logger to a computer via USB to view recorded data. You can open the exported PDF report directly from the USB disk or import the data into the Elitech data management software for detailed analysis of configuration information and recorded data.
View Data Temporarily
For quick statistical information, press the button to cycle through the LCD display. The screen can show MKT (Mean Kinetic Temperature), average, maximum, and minimum values. For detailed analysis, connect the logger to a computer via USB. Data is typically saved in PDF format to the USB disk within a few minutes (e.g., 3 minutes) after connection.
Display Menu Instruction
The data logger's LCD displays different information based on settings. The following describes the maximum display information; items not configured will not appear.
Menu 1: Start Delay Time or Remaining Time
Displays the start delay time or the remaining time until recording begins, in the format "Hr:Min. 10Sec" (e.g., "10 min 20 sec left"). This page is shown only during start delay or timing start status. Figure 1 shows the timing start status, and Figure 2 shows the start delay status (flashing).
Menu 2: Current Temperature
Shows the current temperature. Figure 3 displays the current temperature with no alarm, while Figure 4 shows it when an alarm condition is met. Static display indicates recording is in progress.
Menu 3: Current Record Points
Indicates the number of recorded data points. Figure 5 shows the current record points. A static display may indicate that the current record points exceed the maximum capacity, and the data logger is recording circularly.
Menu 4: Current Record Interval
Displays the set recording interval. The format "N*10 sec" is used (e.g., Figure 6 shows a record interval of 12 minutes 50 seconds).
Menu 5: MKT Value
Shows the Mean Kinetic Temperature (MKT) value. Figure 7 displays the MKT value. A static display indicates that recording has stopped.
Menu 6: Average Temperature Value
Displays the average temperature recorded. Figure 8 shows the average temperature value.
Menu 7: Max Temperature Value
Displays the maximum temperature recorded. Figure 9 shows the maximum temperature value.
Menu 8: Min Temperature Value
Displays the minimum temperature recorded. Figure 10 shows the minimum temperature value.
Menu 9, 10, 11: Set Upper Limit of Temperature
These menus display the configured upper temperature limits for alarms. Figures 11, 12, and 13 show examples of these settings (e.g., 32.50°C, 15.0°C, 10.0°C).
Menu 12, 13: Set Lower Limit of Temperature
These menus display the configured lower temperature limits for alarms. Figures 14 and 15 show examples of these settings (e.g., 10.0°C, -5.0°C).
Other Status Indicators
- Figure 16: Indicates data deletion status.
- Figure 17: Shows data recovery status upon power-on.
- Figure 18: Represents the report generation process.
- Figure 19: Indicates the USB connection status.
Content of PDF Report
The content of the generated PDF report varies based on the alarm types configured for the data logger.
- No Alarm: If no alarm types are set, the report will not include alarm information in the top right corner or color markings for data points.
- Alarm Set: When alarms are configured, relevant alarm information appears in an alarm info column. Over-high temperature data is displayed in red, over-low temperature data in blue, and normal data in black. The top right corner of the first page will indicate the alarm status; otherwise, it shows normal status.
Finish View
After viewing the report, you can safely disconnect the data logger from the computer.
