The headset features:

4. Getting Started
Charging the Headset
Step 1: Connect the headset to a USB Type-C port using the provided cable. For optimal performance, connect directly to your computer's USB port. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours.
Step 2: The indicator light shows charging status:
- Critically low battery: Flashes red quickly
- Fully charged: Solid green
- High battery level: Flashing green
- Medium battery level: Flashing yellow
- Low battery level: Flashing red
Powering the Headset On/Off
Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off. The indicator light will turn green (2s) when on and red (1s) when off.
Connecting to Your Device
Wired Mode:
Connect the headset to your device using the USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable.
2.4 GHz Mode:
Step 1: Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the headset. The indicator light will turn solid green (2s).
Step 2: Connect the Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle to a USB Type-A port on your device. The headset will automatically connect.
Connection Status:
- Connecting: Blinking green light
- Connected: Solid green light
Headset Battery Level Indicator:
- Red: Low battery
- Yellow: Medium battery
- Green: High battery
You can customize the LED indicator behavior via Razer Synapse to show connection status, battery level, or low battery warnings.
Bluetooth Mode:
Step 1: Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the headset. The indicator light will turn solid green (2s).
Step 2: Double-press the SmartSwitch button to enter pairing mode. The indicator light will flash blue.
Step 3: On your Bluetooth device, search for "BlackShark V3 BT" and connect.
Step 4: Once paired, the indicator light will turn solid blue.
If pairing times out, repeat the process.
Re-pairing Bluetooth:
Step 1: Turn off the headset (press and hold power for 2s, indicator turns green).
Step 2: Press and hold the SmartSwitch button for 5 seconds to re-enter pairing mode.
Step 3: Search for "BlackShark V3 BT" on your Bluetooth device and connect.
Step 4: Once paired, the indicator light will turn solid blue.
Connecting to Mobile Devices:
Download the Razer Audio app from the App Store or Google Play to customize your headset's EQ, auto-off function, game mode, and more.
- Download and install the Razer Audio app on your mobile device.
- Launch the app and follow the on-screen instructions.
Ensure your headset is connected via Bluetooth when using the Razer Audio app.
Pairing in Both Wireless Modes:
The headset will show "Paired" with a solid white light when connected in both modes.
Cycling Through Wireless Modes:
Double-press the SmartSwitch button to cycle between 2.4 GHz mode, Bluetooth mode, and simultaneous audio mode.

Razer HyperClear Cardioid Microphone
Connecting the Microphone:
Plug the detachable microphone into the microphone port.
Proper Microphone Placement:
Position the microphone about 2.54 cm (1 inch) from your mouth. Ensure the diaphragm is facing your mouth and the ventilation opening is away from it.
Microphone Mute/Unmute:
Press the microphone toggle button to mute or unmute the microphone.
Adjusting Volume
Rotate the volume control dial to increase or decrease the volume.
Switching EQ Presets
Press the SmartSwitch button to cycle through EQ presets: Default, Game, Cinema, Music, Esports 1.
*EQ presets can be customized using the Razer Synapse or Razer Audio app.
Adjusting Game/Chat Volume Balance
Rotate the volume control dial to increase game volume and decrease chat volume, or vice versa.
Available Balance Settings:
- Max Game
- Balanced
- Max Chat
*Other functions can be customized using the Razer Synapse or Razer Audio app.
Bluetooth Call Handling:
Single Press: Answer incoming call / End active call.
Double Press: Reject incoming call / Switch between calls.
Comfort Adjustments
Gently stretch the earcups outwards before putting on the headset to reduce stress on the construction. Avoid overstretching.

6. Configuring Your Razer Headset
Razer Synapse Software
This manual provides an overview of the Razer Synapse application. Some features may be described partially. An internet connection is required for installation, updates, and cloud features. A Razer ID is recommended for enhanced functionality. Features may vary based on the Synapse version, connected devices, and supported add-ons.
Synapse Interface Navigation:
- Minimize: Minimizes the app to the taskbar, allowing background operation.
- Maximize/Restore: Expands the app to full screen or restores it to its previous size.
- Close: Closes all related tabs and exits the application.
- Previous Tab: Navigates to the last viewed tab.
- Next Tab: Navigates to the next tab.
- Refresh Tab: Reloads the current page.
- Download Update: Installs available application updates.
- More: Opens a pop-up window for access to "Devices", "Modules", and "Other installed applications".
- Settings: Opens the "Settings" tab for quick parameter adjustments.
- Profile: Opens a pop-up for "Sign In", "Feedback", "Rate this app", "Add Wi-Fi device", and "Exit".
- Information (?): Displays additional information about a feature when hovered over.
Information Panel:
The "Information" tab provides general information about Razer Synapse and access to all Razer devices, modules, and online services.
Gamer Room:
The "Gamer Room" tab displays devices with "Razer Aether Light" functionality, allowing you to view and manage compatible devices.
Synapse Priority: Configure device lighting and its response to Chroma-enabled games and Chroma Connect.
Under Gamer Room App Control: Displays all devices managed by the Gamer Room app.
Devices and Modules:
The "Modules" tab lists all installed and available modules.
Global Shortcuts:
Assign actions or Synapse functions to custom key combinations that work across all device profiles.
*Input is recognized only from Synapse-enabled devices.
BlackShark V3 Tab:
This is the main tab for your Razer headset. Here you can adjust device settings like lighting (if supported), set EQ profiles, and control system volume or volume for active applications. Changes are saved locally and in the cloud.
- Profile Dropdown: Access and switch between device profiles.
- More (...): Opens a pop-up for profile management (add, import, rename, duplicate, export, delete).
Sound Tab:
Customize audio settings:
- Game/Chat Volume Balance: Adjust the mix between game and chat audio.
- Sound Properties: Access Windows sound settings for playback, recording, and communication configurations.
- Enhancements: Adjust incoming audio signal and frequency response. Options include:
- Sound Normalization: Balances loud and quiet sounds.
- Bass Boost: Enhances low-frequency response for better bass.
- Voice Clarity: Improves speech intelligibility.
- Microphone Tab: Adjust outgoing audio settings.
- Microphone Volume: Adjust microphone volume or mute it.
- Microphone Monitoring: Hear your microphone input through the headset.
- Microphone Enhancements:
- Volume Normalization: Maintains consistent volume levels.
- Clear Voice: Enhances speech frequencies.
- Microphone Noise Suppression: Reduces background noise.
- Adjustable Noise Gate: Controls microphone input sensitivity.
- Microphone EQ: Select microphone EQ presets or customize manually.
- Microphone Monitoring: Control microphone sound through the headset.
- Power Tab: Manage power consumption for wireless devices.
- LED Indicator: Customize the dongle's LED behavior (connection status, battery level, or low battery warning).
- Wireless Power Saving: Set the device to automatically turn off after a period of inactivity.
- Demo Tab: Explore your settings and enhancements.
THX Spatial Audio:
Switch between stereo and THX Spatial Audio modes for immersive sound.
Game Profiles:
Automatically load THX Spatial Audio or EQ presets when a game is launched. Add custom profiles for specific applications.
Volume:
Adjust device volume and system volume via the Windows Volume Mixer.
7. Safety and Maintenance
Safety Precautions:
- Follow the guidelines in this manual for maximum safety.
- If issues arise, disconnect the device and contact Razer support at support.razer.com.
- Do not disassemble the device, as this will void the warranty.
- Avoid using the device with non-standard current loads.
- Keep the device away from liquids, humidity, and high-moisture environments.
- Operate the device within the temperature range of 0°C to 40°C. If the temperature exceeds this range, turn off the device and allow it to return to normal operating temperature.
- Gently stretch the earcups before wearing the headset to reduce stress on the construction. Do not overstretch.
- The device isolates external sounds, which can reduce awareness of your surroundings. Do not use it while performing activities that require you to hear and react to your environment.
- Prolonged exposure to high volumes can damage your hearing. Adhere to recommended safe listening levels (e.g., 86 dB for 8 hours).
Servicing and Use:
- Minimal maintenance is required. Clean the device monthly with a soft cloth or cotton swab. Do not use soap or harsh cleaning agents.
