Accessory Manager Application

The Accessory Manager application is used for future software (SW) upgrades for the WM500.

Download: Available from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

https://www.motorolasolutions.com/content/static/dm_app/get_dmapp.html

App Icon & Name: The application is named "Accessory Manager".

Install the Accessory Manager application to upgrade WM500 firmware to the latest version for the first time before use. The URL will redirect users to Google Play Store or Apple App Store upon clicking Google Play or App Store.

Opening the App

Initial state: The app displays the Motorola Solutions logo.

After opening: The app shows "Accessory Manager" with a "No device connected" message. It prompts the user to ensure the accessory is switched ON and connected via Bluetooth settings.

Primary Flow When Device is Connected

1. The app displays "Device Details" showing WM500, "Connected" status, and current Software Version (e.g., 2.0.0).

2. The "Software Status" changes to "Checking for updates...".

3. The status updates to "Downloading updates...".

4. The status progresses to "Transferring software package..." with a progress indicator.

5. Once the transfer is complete (e.g., 100%), a notification may appear when the app is minimized, indicating "Updated software package is Ready!". Options to "UPDATE NOW" or "LATER" are presented.

Update Software

1. From the "Updated software package is Ready!" screen, select "UPDATE NOW" or "LATER".

2. If "UPDATE NOW" is selected, an "Update Software" dialog appears asking "Would you like to update now?" with "CANCEL" and "ACCEPT" options. It also includes important notes: the accessory will restart and be unavailable for 30 seconds, and users should not switch off the accessory during the update.

3. After accepting, the status changes to "Applying software package... please wait...".

4. Upon completion, the "Software Update Complete" screen is shown, confirming the new software version (e.g., 4.0.0) and language (e.g., English).

Update Software Later

1. If the "LATER" option is selected on the "Updated software package is Ready!" screen, the app returns to the "Device Details" screen.

2. A subsequent "Update Software" dialog may appear, prompting the user to update. Selecting "OK" proceeds with the update.

Primary Flow of Language Pack Upgrade

1. The "Device Details" screen shows "Software is up to date" and the current "Language" (e.g., English).

2. Tapping on the language option reveals a selection list: "<Reset>", "English", "French", "Dutch".

3. After selecting a language (e.g., French), the status changes to "Transferring language package..." with a progress indicator.

4. Upon completion, the "Updated language package is Ready!" screen appears, offering "UPDATE NOW" or "LATER" options.

Note: Default on the apps will always show English irrespective of WM500 preset language.

Language Pack Upgrade

1. Similar to software updates, selecting "UPDATE NOW" triggers an "Update Software" dialog with notes about the update process (restart, do not switch off).

2. After accepting, the status shows "Applying language package... please wait...".

3. The "Language Update Complete" screen confirms the update, showing the new language (e.g., French).

Language Pack Upgrade Later

1. Selecting "LATER" on the "Updated language package is Ready!" screen returns to the "Device Details" screen.

2. A subsequent "Update Software" dialog may prompt the user to update, with an "OK" option.

Language Pack Upgrade for Multiple WM500s

The Accessory Manager application supports language upgrades for multiple WM500 units. To upgrade multiple units to the same language (e.g., French), use the ‘RESET’ function and choose the desired language again.
