Installation Steps
Step 1: Measure and Cut Scribe Rails
Measure the scribe rail thickness and length according to your specific cabinetry. Cut four rails in total: two for the sides, and one each for the top and bottom. The recommended scribe rail height is 3/4".
Note: Do not remove the front shipping strap prior to installation.
Step 2: Install Scribe Rails
Install the upper and lower scribe rails to the filler pullouts. Be careful not to split the wood. If using screws, pre-drill holes first. Align the scribe rails with the front edge of the filler pullouts. Align the top scribe rail with the top of the base cabinet lower mounting.
Note: For frameless applications, use a 1/16" thick scribe rail to properly space the filler unit.
Step 3: Mount Filler Pullout
Pre-drill holes using a 3/16" drill bit. Refer to the table below for specific measurements based on filler height.
Filler Size (Height) | Measurement #1 (From Top of Cabinet, Down) | Measurement #2 (From Top of Cabinet, Down) |
---|---|---|
26" Filler | 3/8" | 23-7/8" |
30" Filler | 3/8" | 27-7/8" |
Mount the filler cabinet pullout to the adjacent cabinets. Ensure the filler is flush with the top of the cabinet wall and behind the face-frame, if applicable. Repeat for the remaining adjacent cabinet.
Step 4: Attach Onlays or Door Panels
Remove the front shipping strap. Attach any onlays or door panels (not provided) as shown in Figure 5.
Note: Metal brackets cannot be pre-drilled or screwed into.
Step 5: Disassemble Pullout from Chassis (If Necessary)
The pullout unit does not need to be removed for installation. However, if removal is necessary, locate the release levers for the Blum Tandem slides as shown in Figures 6a-b. Squeeze the release triggers and hold while pulling the filler away from the cabinet run.
Step 6: Adjust Front Slide Height
Press up on the adjustment tab. Push toward the back of the unit. The maximum rise of the filler is 1/8". (See Figures 7a-c).
