Instructions for Use

Welcome

Dear music lover, thank you for purchasing an integrated amplifier from Pro-Ject Audio Systems. In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability, you should study these instructions for use carefully.

Important notice.

Safety Instructions

AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements printed on the power supply.

The power supply is used to disconnect the unit from the mains. Make sure that the power supply is easily accessible at all times. Never handle the device or the power supply while your hands are wet or damp.

Avoid letting liquids enter the device or the power supply. Never place any item containing liquid, such as a flower vase, on or near the device. Never spill any liquid on the device or the power supply.

Never place any naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on or near the device. The product shall not be used in damp or wet locations, next to a bathtub, sink, swimming pool, or any other similar conditions.

Connectors

The rear panel features the following connectors:

  • Phono In 1: Connect the tonearm signal lead here. The earthing wire may be connected to the screw terminal if you encounter hum problems when using the turntable. This input is suitable for MM and High-Output MC cartridges.
  • Line In 2: RCA input for line-level sources (e.g., CD player, radio, TV).
  • Line In 3: 3.5mm TRS input for line-level sources.
  • Digital Inputs: For sources with a digital output. Coaxial input is on In 4, and optical inputs are on In 5 and In 6.
  • Sub out: Connect an active subwoofer to these output sockets.
  • Speaker Terminals: Accept loudspeaker cables terminated with 4mm ? Banana plugs, spades connectors, or naked wire.
  • USB 5V/1A Output: A USB-C output to supply power to modern streaming devices or other compatible products. An included USB-C to USB-A adapter allows the use of USB-A power cables.
  • Power Input: Connect the low voltage plug from the supplied power supply to the 20V DC socket.

Important Connection Notes:

  • Make all connections whilst the amplifier is disconnected from the power supply.
  • Take care to connect the left and right channels correctly. The right channel is usually marked red, and the left channel is black or white.
  • Never use any other power supply than the one supplied with the unit.

Front Panel Controls

The front panel features:

  • Power/Standby Button: Located on the left side. Press to turn the unit on or put it into standby. A blue LED above the button indicates when the unit is switched on.
  • Input Selector Buttons: Located next to the input LEDs. Press to cycle through the 7 inputs. The selected input number will be illuminated.
  • Volume Knob: The large knob in the center adjusts the volume to the desired level.

Operation

Switching On/Off

Press the button on the left side of the front panel to turn the unit on or return it to standby. The blue LED above the button indicates the unit is powered on. If mute is active, the LED will blink.

Input Selection

After powering on, briefly press the input selection buttons on the front panel to cycle through inputs 1 to 7. The active input is indicated by the illuminated LED above the respective input number.

Volume Adjustment

Adjust the volume to the desired level using the large knob on the front panel.

Headphone Connection

Connect headphones to the 6.3mm (1/4") jack socket on the front of the unit. ?

Bluetooth (BT) Connection

The Bluetooth antenna is pre-mounted. BT is active only when Input 7 is selected. To connect your device for the first time:

  1. Activate pairing mode by pressing and holding the Input (pair) button until LED 7 starts blinking. The Stereo Box E is now visible and ready to pair for 60 seconds.
  2. Pairing with Android devices: Open Settings, turn on BT, start a Scan for BT devices. Select "Stereo Box E" from the list and confirm the connection (if prompted, verify the code on your device). The LED of Input 7 will light up continuously upon successful connection.
  3. Pairing with Apple devices: Open Settings, turn on BT. Your device will automatically search for available devices. Select "Stereo Box E" and confirm the connection. The LED of Input 7 will light up continuously upon successful connection.

The Stereo Box E can store up to 8 BT devices. If the memory is full, new connections will automatically replace the oldest one. A new connection is only possible if the BT input LED is blinking slowly, indicating no device is currently connected.

Remote Control

The remote control allows you to operate the unit:

  • ON/OFF: Turns the unit on/off.
  • VOL-: Decreases the volume.
  • VOL+: Increases the volume.
  • CH-: Selects the previous input.
  • CH+: Selects the next input.
  • MUTE: Activates and deactivates mute.

Replacing Batteries in the Remote Control

Follow these steps:

  • Unlock and slide open the battery case cover.
  • Replace the battery. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Slide the battery case cover back.

Battery Type: 2 x AAA 1.5V

Do not dispose of used batteries as domestic waste. Please dispose of them at appropriate collection sites, typically found at supermarkets and drugstores. ♻️

Service and Warranty

Service

If you encounter a problem that you cannot resolve, please contact your dealer for advice. If the issue cannot be resolved by the dealer, the unit should be sent to the responsible distributor in your country.

It is recommended to keep the original packaging for safe transport of the unit. Warranty service is only provided for units returned in their original packaging.

Warranty

The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by not adhering to these instructions for use. Modifications or changes to any part of the product by unauthorized persons release the manufacturer from any liability beyond the customer's lawful rights.
