How to Check for Factory Wired CarPlay

Instructions: Plug the iPhone into the car's USB port using the original factory cable. If a notification like "CarPlay" appears on the car's screen, your car has built-in CarPlay.

* iPhones must run iOS 10 or a later version.

* If you are still unable to determine whether your car supports wired CarPlay, please contact your car dealer for help.

How to Check for Factory Wired Android Auto

Instructions: Plug your Android phone into the car's USB port using the original factory cable. If a notification like "Android Auto" appears on your car's screen, your car has Android Auto built-in.

* If you are still unable to determine whether your car supports wired Android Auto, please contact your car dealer for help.

Overview

This adapter converts factory wired CarPlay to Wireless CarPlay and factory wired Android Auto to Wireless Android Auto.

• USB-A Port: Used for power supply and data transmission.
• Type-C Female to USB-A Male Adapter: Included adapter cable.

LED Status Indicators

• Power On: Solid light.
• Updating: Blinking light.
• Update Complete: Solid light.
• Reset Complete: Solid light.
• Always on: Solid light.
• Flashes: Blinking light.
• Auto communication succeeded: Solid light.
• Mobile phone connected successfully: Solid light.
• Unexpected Update: Blinking light.
• P2P mode: White light.
• White light flashes: White light blinking.

Hidden Button

Long press for 15 seconds to clear all data and restore to factory settings.

User Interface

The adapter's interface includes options for:

• Back to factory menu
• Bluetooth name (e.g., Car2-XXXX)
• Firmware version

How to Set Up Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto

1. Insert the Adapter into the car's USB port. (Diagram showing adapter plugged into USB)
2. Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, then pair it with a Bluetooth device named "Car2-XXXX". (Screenshot of phone Bluetooth settings)
3. Agree to all requests on your phone. (Screenshot of Bluetooth pairing request with "Cancel" and "Pair" buttons)
4. Successfully connected to CarPlay/Android Auto. The device will automatically recognize CarPlay or Android Auto. No need to repeat pairing steps on subsequent starts. (Diagram showing successful connection icons)

Switch Devices

To switch between connected phones:

1. Remove the adapter from the car.
2. Turn off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of the current phone.
3. Connect the adapter to the car and start connecting Bluetooth.

* Automatic mode switching: The device will automatically recognize CarPlay or Android Auto. When a mode switch occurs, the device will automatically restart once.

* Reconnect mechanism: This adapter supports storing two phones. By default, it prioritizes reconnecting to the last used phone. If a reconnection timeout (15-30 seconds) occurs, it will automatically connect to the other phone.

Instructions for Upgrading and Reporting Issues

For iPhone Users

1. Firmware Upgrade

1.1 Upgrade in CarPlay Connected State

Use a browser to access 192.168.1.101.

1.2 Upgrade when CarPlay is Not Connected

1. Connect to Wi-Fi network "Car2-XXXX".
2. Enter the password "88888888" and join.
3. Use a browser to access 192.168.1.101.
4. Follow on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade.

2. Reporting Issues

Follow these steps to report an issue:

1. Fill in the required information in the form and submit. (Form fields: Car brands, Car models, Car years, Case No.)
2. Copy the generated case number.
3. Send the case number to customer service via email: To: support@ottocast.com, Subject: Report the issue. (Screenshot of email composition)

* Please do not turn off the power during the update process.

* After the upgrade is completed (with the LED in white color), please unplug the adapter.

* After updating, please re-pair your phone.

For Android Phone Users

1. Enter P2P Path 1

Power on the device and press the hidden button for 5 seconds, at which point the LED will turn green. (Diagram showing button press.)

2. Enter P2P Path 2

1. Connect to Wi-Fi network "Car2-XXXX".
2. Enter the password "88888888" and join.
3. Use a browser to access 192.168.1.101.
4. Follow on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade.

3. Firmware Upgrade in P2P Mode

Please find the Wi-Fi Direct feature.

* The path to enter Wi-Fi Direct function varies slightly among different phones. Example for Google Pixel 6Pro: Settings -> Network & internet -> Internet -> Network preferences -> Wi-Fi Direct.

4. Reporting Issues in P2P Mode
