Wire Guides and Telescopic Pull-Out Guides
Wire guides allow food preparation on four levels. Telescopic pull-out guides may be fitted for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th levels.
Embossed Grooves
The oven has stamped side grooves in four levels for inserting grids and baking sheets.
Oven Door Switch
This switch deactivates oven heating and the fan when the oven door is opened. It reactivates them when the door is closed.
Cooling Fan
A cooling fan cools the housing and control panel. It operates when the oven is in operation and may continue to operate for a short while after the oven is switched off.
Grid Usage
Use oven mitts as parts can get hot. The grid has a safety latch. Insert grids or trays into the grooves between the wire profiles. For telescopic guides, pull out the guides, place the grid/tray, and push them in.
Push-Pull Knobs
Press the knob softly to lift it. Knobs can be pushed back only when in the "zero" position.
Before First Use
- Remove all transport packaging.
- Clean all accessories with warm water and detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Clean the glass ceramic surface with a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. Avoid abrasive cleaners or sponges.
- A new appliance smell may be emitted during the first heating. Ventilate the room thoroughly.
Induction Cooking Surface
The glass ceramic hob is resistant to temperature changes but not unbreakable. Avoid dropping objects on the plate.
- Do not use the hob as a storage area to prevent scratches.
- Ensure the cooking zone and cookware are clean and dry for better heat conduction. Do not place empty cookware on the zone.
Induction Cooking Zone Operating Principle
Induction cooking zones generate heat directly in the pan's bottom using an induction coil and magnetic field. This is efficient and reduces energy loss.
WARNING: If sugar or high-sugar content food spills on a hot hob, wipe immediately or remove with a scraper. Do not use detergents on a hot hob.
Induction Cookware
- Use cookware with a thick (at least 2.25 mm) and flat bottom.
- Suitable materials include steel, enamel-coated steel, and cast iron.
- Unsuitable materials include alloy steel with copper/aluminium bottoms, and glass cookware.
- Use the magnet test: if a magnet sticks to the pan bottom, it is suitable.
- When using pressure cookers, monitor them closely. Ensure sufficient liquid is present. Using empty pots can damage the hob.
- Observe manufacturer instructions for special cookware.
- Flat-bottomed cookware is essential. Uneven bottoms can cause overheating and damage.
Pan Recognition
The hob recognizes pans placed on the cooking zone. If a pan is too small or not recognized, a "u" symbol may appear. The hob adjusts power based on pan size.
Energy Saving Tips
- Consider the actual pan bottom diameter when purchasing cookware.
- Use pressure cookers for dishes requiring long cooking times.
- Cover pots and pans with lids whenever possible.
- Cook appropriate amounts of food for the pot size to save energy.
Power Regulation
Cooking zone heat power can be set to ten levels (0-9) plus a "P" (Power Boost) setting.
Power setting | Purpose |
---|---|
0 | Off, using remaining heat |
1-2 | Maintaining warm food, slow simmer |
3 | Slow simmer |
4-5 | Slow cooking, roasting larger chunks |
6 | Roasting, browning |
7-8 | Roasting |
9 | Cooking large amounts, searing/braising |
P | "Power boost" for starting cooking, or very large amounts of food |
Operating the Cooking Hob
Control Unit
The control unit includes sensor keys for hob on/off (A), lock/child lock (B), power/timer decrease (C), power/timer increase (D), cooking zone selection (E), timer indicator (F), and power level display (G).
Switching On the Hob
Touch and hold the on/off key (A) for 1 second. An acoustic signal will sound, and decimal points will light up. The hob powers off after 10 seconds if no zone is activated.
Note: The appliance may be locked upon first connection or after a power failure.
Switching On Cooking Zones
After switching on the hob, select the desired cooking zone (E) and use keys (C) and (D) to set the power level. The "u" symbol appears if no cookware is detected.
Changing Cooking Zone Settings
Power level can be changed anytime by selecting the zone and adjusting the setting with keys (C) or (D). Hold keys for faster adjustment.
Power Zone with PowerBoost Option
Select a zone, touch key (C), then key (D). "P" appears, and the zone operates at maximum power for 10 minutes before returning to level 9.
Deactivating Power Boost
Decrease power to the desired level using key (C).
Child Lock
The child lock prevents accidental activation or changes. To lock, hold key (B) for 1 second; "Loc" appears. To unlock, repeat the process. The lock function can be activated when the hob is on or off.
Timer Functions
This function allows setting cooking time for a selected zone. The zone switches off automatically when time expires. Time can be set from 1 to 99 minutes.
Timer Activation
Select zone (E), set power level, then select timer function. Press keys (C) and (D) to set time. Countdown begins. Touching keys (C) and (D) simultaneously resets the time.
Changing Cooking Time
Press the desired cooking zone key twice and use (C) or (D) to adjust the time.
Displaying Remaining Cooking Time
Touch key (E) twice if multiple timers are active.
Switching Off a Cooking Zone
Set the power level to "0" using key (C). Simultaneously pressing (C) and (D) quickly switches off the zone.
The hob switches off automatically if all zones are set to "0".
Residual Heat Indicator
The "H" symbol indicates residual heat on the cooking zone, which can be used for keeping food warm or defrosting. Be cautious, as the zone may still be hot when "H" disappears.
Maximum Cooking Time
For safety, cooking times are restricted per zone. Duration depends on the power level.
Power level | Maximum operating time (hours) |
---|---|
1 | 10 |
2 | 10 |
3 | 10 |
4 | 10 |
5 | 10 |
6 | 10 |
7 | 10 |
8 | 10 |
9 | 3 |
Switching Off the Entire Cooking Hob
Touch and hold the on/off key (A) for 1 second to switch off the hob and all cooking zones.
Automatic Switch Off
The hob switches off after 10 seconds if keys are activated for too long (e.g., due to spilt liquid). An acoustic signal will sound.
Setting Maximum Total Appliance Power
Maximum hob power is 7200 W, adjustable to 2800 W, 3500 W, or 6000 W within 30 seconds of connecting the hob. Unlock the appliance, press zone selectors 2 and 4 simultaneously, and use keys (C) and (D) to set the power. Store the setting by pressing 2 and 4 again.
Note: Lowering maximum power may limit high power settings on all zones simultaneously.
Bridged Cooking Zone
Some models allow combining two cooking zones for larger pans or griddles. Ensure the pan covers the centers of both zones. Maximum pan size is 40 x 25 cm. The bridged zone does not support the Power Boost setting.
Activating/Deactivating Bridged Zone
Activate by touching two sensors (E) for 3 seconds. Deactivate by reducing power to "0".
Noise and Sounds During Induction Cooking
- Induction-generated operating noise: Normal, due to electromagnetic effects causing molecule oscillation.
- Transformer-like buzz: Occurs at high power levels; may weaken when power is reduced.
- Vibration and crackling of cookware: Normal, depends on cookware material and food.
- Fan noise: Operates for temperature control and may continue after the hob is switched off.
If problems persist, disconnect the hob from power for a few minutes, then reconnect. If issues continue, call a service technician.
