1. Reset the Camera

It is recommended to reset the camera before installation. This process restores all parameters to default settings.

Steps:

  1. Power on the camera properly. This can be done using a PoE NVR/Switch or a 12V1A power adapter.
  2. Unscrew the camera housing using the provided screw.

Diagrams show two camera types, a bullet camera and a turret camera. Each diagram points to a small recessed button labeled 'Reset Button' and a slot labeled 'SD Card Slot' on the camera's rear or side panel.

Press and hold the reset button until the infrared light turns on.

Note: When working with a Hiseeu 4K PoE NVR system, the NVR will activate the camera and auto-connect it, making it plug-and-play without further configuration.

2. Activate Camera

The camera requires activation by setting a strong password before use. This section details camera activation using different client tools.

2.1 Activate via SADP

SADP (Search Active Device Protocol) is a tool used to detect, activate, and modify the IP address of the camera over the LAN.

Before You Start:

  • Download and install the SADP software from the official website: Hikvision SADP Tool.
  • Ensure the camera and the PC running the SADP tool are on the same subnet.

Activation Steps:

  1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.
  2. Find and select your device in the online device list.
  3. Input a new password (admin password) and confirm it.

Cautions: A STRONG PASSWORD IS RECOMMENDED. Create a password of at least 8 characters, including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, to enhance security. It is also recommended to reset your password regularly (monthly or weekly) for better protection.

The SADP software interface displays a list of online devices. An activation dialog box prompts for a new password and confirmation. A 'Cautions' section emphasizes creating a strong password and regular resets.

Click 'Activate' to start the activation process.

A 'Tips' dialog within the activation process explains the need for a 'Verification Code' for Hik-Connect service, specifying requirements for the code (6-12 alphanumeric characters, case-sensitive, recommended minimum 8 characters). It also mentions reading 'Terms of Service' and 'Privacy Policy'.

After successful activation, the device status becomes 'Active'. The web interface configuration shows 'Platform Access' settings. The 'Platform Access Mode' can be set to 'Guarding Vision'. The 'Register Status' is shown as 'Online' after successful activation. The 'Verification Code' field is also visible.

Modify IP Address:

  1. Select the device in the SADP list.
  2. Check 'Enable DHCP' or manually change the device IP address to be in the same subnet as your computer.
  3. Input the admin password and click 'Modify' to activate the IP address modification.

The SADP interface shows a 'Modify Network Parameters' dialog where IP address, subnet mask, and gateway can be adjusted.
