Getting Started with the Smart Life App

STEP 1: How to Download Smart Life App

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the manual to download and install the Smart Life app for iOS or Android.
  2. Alternatively, search for "Smart Life" on Google Play (Android) or the Apple Store (iOS) to download.

STEP 2: How to Sign Up an Account

After downloading the app, you will need to sign up for an account. You can use your cell phone number or email address. Select your country, enter your details, and follow the prompts to create a password and confirm.

STEP 3: How to Add a Device via Quick Connection

  1. Open the Smart Life app and tap the "+" button in the top right corner to add a device.
  2. Plug your Smart Temperature Controller into an electrical outlet. Ensure your smartphone is connected to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds to reset the device. The Wi-Fi icon on the controller's screen will flash rapidly (3 times per second) when ready for pairing.
  4. In the app, select "Socket(Wi-Fi)" and confirm that the indicator is rapidly blinking.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi password. Note: The device only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. Ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz network before proceeding.
  6. The system will connect automatically. Once connected, you can modify the device's name.

Important Notes for Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure your router is using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. It is recommended to set different names for your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.
  • Your phone must be connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  • Keep the smart device close to the router for a strong Wi-Fi connection.
  • Check if the number of connected devices has reached the router's limit.
  • Use only English letters and numbers for your Wi-Fi router name (SSID) and password.
  • Configure your Wi-Fi router with WPA2-PSK encryption and AES authorization type (or set both to auto). Avoid using "11n only" wireless mode.

Getting to Know the "Smart Life" APP Interface

The app interface allows you to monitor and control the temperature controller. Key elements include:

  • PV (Present Value): Displays the current measured temperature.
  • High Temperature: Setting for the high-temperature limit.
  • Low Temperature: Setting for the low-temperature limit.
  • Control Mode: Indicates whether the device is in Heating, Cooling, or Normal mode.
  • Temperature Trend Diagram: Visualizes temperature changes over time.
  • Power Switch: To turn the device on or off.
  • Menu Setting: Access to various settings like temperature calibration and unit switching.
  • Cooling Delay: Setting for delay time before cooling starts.
  • High/Low Temperature Alarm Switches: Enable/disable alarms for temperature thresholds.
  • Temperature Calibration: Adjust the displayed temperature if it's inaccurate.
  • Temperature Unit Switch: Change between °C and °F.

Button Operation Instructions

  1. Turn ON / Turn OFF: Press the screen to display status; press again to turn off the socket.
  2. Temperature Setting: Long press the setting key (3s) to enter setting mode. Use the setting key to select digits and long press to adjust values. Press the setting key to confirm.
  3. C/F Switch: Press the setting key to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  4. Turn ON/OFF Buzzer: Long press the down key to toggle the buzzer on/off. The status will be displayed.
  5. Other Functions:
    • Probe Fault Mode: If the temperature sensor circuit is short-circuited or open-circuited, the controller enters probe fault mode, closes all execution states, and the buzzer sounds. Press any button to silence the buzzer; the device returns to normal mode when the fault is removed.
    • Disconnection Status: If the controller loses power or connection, the mobile app may still show it as online for 1-3 minutes before updating to a disconnected state.

Control Function Instructions

1. Heating Mode:

  • When measured temperature (PV) is less than the Low Temperature Value (LV), the controller enters heating state, the heating indicator [?] turns on, and the HEATING output works.
  • When measured temperature (PV) is greater than High Temperature Value (HV) minus 2°C, the heating indicator [?] turns off, and the HEATING output stops.

2. Cooling Mode:

  • When measured temperature (PV) is greater than the High Temperature Value (HV), the controller enters cooling state, the cooling indicator [❄️] turns on, and the COOLING output works.
  • When measured temperature (PV) is less than Low Temperature Setting Value (LV) plus 2°C, the cooling indicator [❄️] turns off, and the COOLING output stops.

3. Normal Mode:

The machine does not operate when the measured temperature is between HV and LV. The heating/cooling indicators are not displayed. Note: The next mode will start within 15 seconds.

Example: Setting HV=26.0°C, LV=23.0°C

  • If PV > 26.0°C, the controller enters Cooling state.
  • If PV < 25.0°C, cooling stops.
  • If PV < 23.0°C, the controller enters Heating state.
  • If PV > 24.0°C, heating stops.

4. Alarm High/Low Temperature Limit:

  • When connected to Wi-Fi: The buzzer will sound ([?]) if measured temperature > AH (high temperature limit alarm) until temperature < AH, or if measured temperature < AL (low temperature limit alarm) until temperature > AL. Pressing any button silences the alarm.
  • When disconnected from Wi-Fi: The buzzer will sound ([?]) if measured temperature > HV + 9°F until temperature < HV + 9°F, or if measured temperature < LV - 9°F until temperature > LV - 9°F. Pressing any button silences the alarm.
