Operation Instructions

1. Position Your Dehumidifier

Install the dehumidifier horizontally to minimize vibration and noise. Adjust the feet to level the unit.

Diagram Description (Drain Hose Installation):

  • Improper Installation 1: Shows a drain pipe arching upwards before descending. This can trap air, reducing discharge efficiency.
  • Improper Installation 2: Shows a water container lower than the drain pipe but higher than a point B, with the pipe outlet submerged in water. This can cause air/water issues.
  • Proper Installation: Shows the drain pipe running smoothly downwards from the dehumidifier outlet to the drainage point, ensuring efficient water flow.

Note: For best results, operate in an enclosed area, keeping doors and windows closed to maximize water removal. Place the unit away from obstructions that could block airflow.

2. Connect the Drain Hose

Connect the drain hose to the Gravity Drain Outlet and place the other end into a suitable drainage facility. Ensure the drainage facility is lower than the dehumidifier's drain outlet for proper gravity flow.

3. Plug In

IMPORTANT: Allow the dehumidifier to sit outside its box for 24 hours before initial plugging in. Uncoil the power cord and plug it firmly into a properly grounded 110-120 volt AC outlet. After plugging in, the control panel will briefly light up for self-diagnosis.

4. Understand the Control Panel

The control panel features an LCD screen and four buttons: ON/OFF, Up (▲), Down (▼), and Timing/Function. Pressing the ON/OFF button turns the unit on or off.

What is on the LCD Screen?

The LCD displays:

  • Big Font Digital Number: Shows the detected inlet air humidity percentage (e.g., 43 RH%). This number changes to the set humidity value and flashes when adjusting.
  • Small Font Digital Number: Shows the inlet air temperature (e.g., 77°F). If the timer is active, it displays the timer setting or remaining time.
  • Running Icon: Flickers when the compressor is not yet active, typically during the 3-minute compressor delay or when programmed for a delay start (AUTO ON TIMER).
  • Wet Controller Icon: Illuminates when the room humidity level is 3% lower than the set humidity. When setting up, ensure the set humidity is at least 3% (10% recommended) lower than the inlet humidity. In Humidistat Mode, it indicates the target humidity has been reached, and the unit enters standby.
  • Defrosting Icon: Appears when frost builds up on evaporator coils. The fan runs, but the compressor stops. The icon flashes during defrosting and disappears once complete, allowing dehumidification to resume. Frequent defrosting may indicate a room temperature below 60°F, suggesting the need for added heat.
  • Fan Icon: Illuminates when the fan is running.
  • Water Droplets Icon: Illuminates when the compressor is active (dehumidifying). It flickers during the 3-minute compressor delay.
  • Timer Icon: Illuminates when the timer function is enabled.

Understand the Control Buttons

  • ON/OFF Button: Turns the dehumidifier ON or OFF.
  • ▲ Button: Increases the set humidity level or timer value.
  • ▼ Button: Decreases the set humidity level or timer value.
  • Timing/Function Button: Press once to check settings. Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter the Timer setting system.

5. General Operation Instructions

(1) Turn the Dehumidifier On

Press the ON/OFF button. The dehumidifier typically starts with a default set humidity of 30%.

(2) Set a Desired Humidity Percentage Value

Use the ▲ or ▼ buttons to set your desired humidity level between 10%-98% in 1% increments. A general guide is 40%-60%. Press the Timing/Function Button to confirm, or the setting will register automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity.

Note: The dehumidifier maintains humidity within ±3% of the set point. If the set humidity is 50%, it stops at 47% (entering "wet controller" mode) and restarts at 53%. If the set humidity is 30% or lower, it operates in CONTINUOUS MODE.

(3) Turn the Dehumidifier Off

Press the ON/OFF button. The fan continues for 5 seconds after shutdown to protect the compressor; do not disconnect power during this time.

(4) Water Drainage

During normal operation, water drains by gravity. Before moving or storing, wait at least 10 minutes for defrosting, then tilt the unit gently towards the drain to ensure it is completely empty.

6. Timer Setting

The TIMER function allows for AUTO-ON or AUTO-OFF delays from 1 to 24 hours.

  • Setting an AUTO-ON timer: When the dehumidifier is off, setting the timer turns it on after the specified hours.
  • Setting an AUTO-OFF timer: When the dehumidifier is on, setting the timer turns it off after the specified hours.

To set the TIMER:

  • Press and hold the Timing/Function Button for about 3 seconds until the TIMER icon lights up and the small font number shows "00 H" and flashes.
  • Use the ▲ or ▼ buttons to adjust the delay timer in 1-hour increments, up to 24 hours.
  • Press the Timing/Function Button to confirm, or wait 5 seconds for automatic registration.
  • The small font readout will count down the remaining time.
  • To disable the timer, turn the unit ON/OFF manually or set the timer to "00 H".

Note: Ensure power is supplied for AUTO ON. For AUTO ON, set a desired humidity level first. You can set either AUTO ON or AUTO OFF at a time, not both. The timer functions only once per cycle. It is disabled if the unit is manually powered on/off. Setting timer to 00 disables it.

7. Connect the Dehumidifier to an External Pump to Drain

⚠️ Make sure the dehumidifier is turned off and unplugged before connecting to an external pump.

Run the drain hose from the Gravity Drain Outlet into the external pump. Neither the hose nor the pump should be higher than the Gravity Drain Outlet.

NOTE:

  • If the pump has a water full signal cable, connect it to the External Pump Terminal. The dehumidifier will stop automatically when the pump is full, preventing leakage. This cable is optional.
  • Not all external pump output signals are compatible. If the pump does not work and an E5 error is displayed after connecting the signal cable, the signal is incompatible. Disconnect the cable, turn off, and restart the dehumidifier.

When the pump is full, the dehumidifier stops and displays E5. After the pump drains, the dehumidifier restarts. An E5 error can also indicate a blocked drain hose or pump. Troubleshoot and restart.

Diagram Description (External Pump Connection):

  • Left Diagram (Incorrect): Shows a gravity drain hose connected to an external pump with a red 'X' symbol, indicating a problem or incorrect setup.
  • Right Diagram (Correct): Shows the correct setup with a gravity drain hose from the pump drain outlet to the external pump, and a signal line connecting to the external pump terminal. A green checkmark confirms this is the proper configuration.

8. Smart Functions

(1) 3 Minutes Compressor Delay Mechanism

To prevent damage, the compressor will not start for 3 minutes after a cycle completes or if the unit is restarted immediately after being turned off. The RUNNING icon will flash during this delay.

(2) Auto Defrost

When frost forms on evaporator coils, the compressor cycles off, and the fan continues to run until the frost melts. The DEFROSTING icon illuminates during this process.

(3) Auto-Restart

If the dehumidifier shuts off due to a power outage, it will automatically restart with its previous settings once power is restored.

(4) Temperature Protection Function

  • If room temperature exceeds 113°F, the unit enters HIGH-TEMPERATURE PROTECTION, displaying "HH" and stopping the compressor.
  • If room temperature drops below 40°F, it enters LOW-TEMPERATURE PROTECTION, displaying "LL" and stopping operation.

Note: If "HH" or "LL" messages appear under normal circumstances, contact customer service at service@moiswell.com.

Maintenance

⚠️ To avoid electric shock, turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before cleaning or maintenance.

1. Cleaning the Dehumidifier

Clean the dehumidifier housing with a soft damp cloth. Do not submerge or apply water to the unit or control panel, as this can damage electronic components. Avoid chemical solvents like benzene, alcohol, or gasoline, as they can damage or deform the surface.

2. Cleaning the Air Filter

A blocked filter significantly reduces performance. Clean the air filter approximately every 2 weeks, or more frequently if there is significant dust or pet dander. The filter is located behind the inlet grill.

Steps to clean the filter:

  • Unscrew the hand screw on the top of the inlet grill, open the grill, and remove the filter.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove large debris and dust.
  • Wash the filter in lukewarm, soapy water (below 40°C / 104°F) or use a neutral cleaning agent.
  • Rinse the filter with clean water and dry it thoroughly.
  • Re-install the filter.

Diagram Description (Filter Cleaning Steps): The diagram shows four steps: 1. Unscrewing the hand screw. 2. Removing the access door to reveal and take out the filter. 3. Washing the filter. 4. Re-installing the clean filter.

Note: Do not operate the dehumidifier without a filter, as dirt and lint can clog it and reduce performance.
