Owl Labs' "Meeting Owl" Operating Description Meeting Owl is a USB pluggable device for video conferencing. Meeting Owl uses a single-chip dual-band Qualcomm radio. It also uses a single antenna which is external to the circuit board but internal to the Meeting Owl. The radio operates on the open bands of the spectrum around 2.4GHz and between 5 and 6 GHz. The radio also handles all of the modulation, demodulation, and protocol specifics for WiFi and Bluetooth (including BTLE). Meeting Owl can be connected to mobile devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). When connected the device has limited control of device behaviors and settings to allow for activity such as wifi configuration. Media cannot be transmitted over BLE. Wifi connectivity is used for monitoring device life (heartbeat) and for Over-the-air (OTA) updates (cannot stream media).
