6. Install & Connect

6.1 WILD-14 Receivers

The WILD-14 receivers come with the lighting rail bracket mounted. Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Ensure the 4-position (OFF-1-2-3) circuit selector wheel is in the OFF position.
  2. Insert the loudspeaker into the lighting rail.
  3. Rotate the safety lug to secure the loudspeaker. Rotate the circuit selector wheel to a position other than OFF to deliver mains AC to the unit. The safety lug will then be locked.
  4. Check the unit's power status via the LED indicator on the back panel. If the LED is OFF, check if the lighting rail is powered and the selector wheel is in the correct position.
  5. Orient the loudspeaker for the required vertical and horizontal position.

For installations without a lighting rail, the optional surface mount accessory (ref. TUBE SMA) can be used.

6.1.1 Disassembling WILD-14 Receivers from Lighting Rails Installations

Before detaching, ensure the 4-position circuit selector wheel is set to OFF.

Diagrams illustrate the process of detaching the WILD-14 receiver from a lighting rail.

6.2 WILD-SB18 Receivers

The WILD-SB18 receivers are ready for floor mounting with pre-assembled feet. A wall/surface mount bracket is included for wall mounting.

6.2.1 Horizontal Floor Mounting

Diagram shows the WILD-SB18 unit with its feet for floor mounting.

6.2.2 Wall Mounting

Diagrams illustrate the wall mounting process:

  1. Fix 4 wall plugs and screws to the wall according to the specified distances.
  2. Attach the 2 wall brackets to the device using the provided screws.
  3. Hang the device on the wall by inserting the brackets into the screws attached to the wall.

6.3 WILD-TX Transmitter

The WILD-TX transmitter unit controls and feeds a WILD network of up to 32 WILD-14 and WILD-SB18 receivers.

6.3.1 Antennas Assembly

Mount the 3 supplied antennas: 2 DECT antennas and 1 Bluetooth® antenna.

The WILD-TX unit can be installed on a wall or under a surface. Consider the physical location of the transmitter and receivers for optimal wireless performance.

Warning: Since the device features a heat generator, it should not be enclosed or exposed to extreme temperatures.

6.3.2 Half Rack Adapter Assembly

The WILD-TX includes a half-rack front adapter for installation in a standard 19" rack, occupying 1U width and 1U height.

Diagrams show the process of attaching the half-rack adapter using screws.

Note: If multiple units are installed in a rack or closed cabinet, install fans for forced airflow to dissipate heat.

6.3.3 Ears Mounting

The WILD-TX includes 2 ears for mounting. Diagrams illustrate mounting the ears on the front square and top square of the device.

6.3.4 Location

Follow these guidelines for optimal WILD-TX unit placement:

  • Maximum recommended installation height is 2 m.
  • Consider the maximum RF operating scope (150 meters with direct line of sight) to any receiver unit.
  • For maximum coverage, center the transmitter unit within the receiver network.

Diagram shows an example of transmitter placement at the center of a perimeter disposition of receivers.

The WILD-TX transmitter can be fed with up to 2 audio inputs:

  • INPUT 1: Stereo unbalanced, 2xRCA connectors (rear panel).
  • INPUT 2: Stereo, received via Bluetooth®, class 1 (up to 25-meter range, front panel antenna).

Connect the external power supply to the DC IN terminal on the rear panel to power up the unit and start the WiLD setup process.

7. Pairing & Starting Up

When a WILD-TX transmitter is powered up for the first time or after a Factory Defaults reset, its status LED blinks slowly, indicating it is not paired and ready for pairing.

Press the WILD PAIR button on the rear panel to pair the transmitter with WILD-14 and/or WILD-SB18 receivers (up to 32 units).

Paring Process:

  1. Briefly press the WILD PAIR button on the transmitter's rear panel.
  2. The discovery process begins. The status LED indicator blinks slowly. Once receivers are paired, press the WILD PAIR button again to stop pairing mode.
  3. Briefly press the WILD PAIR button on the receiver units (WILD-14 and/or WILD-SB18).
  4. The discovery process begins. The status LED indicator blinks slowly.

Once the process is complete and network connections are stable, the status LED will remain permanently lit, indicating a successful pairing and a stable WiLD network.

System Ready for Use:

  • Select the audio source using the input switch.
  • Adjust Master volume using the VOLUME knob.
  • Adjust equalization using the TONE CONTROL knobs.

Bluetooth® Pairing Procedure:

A standard Bluetooth® pairing process is required from the audio player (smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.) to the WILD-TX transmitter.

  1. Short press the “BT pair” button on the WILD-TX front panel.
  2. In your device's Bluetooth settings, look for the device named "Wild-Tx XXXX".
  3. Select the WILD-TX device and accept the request.
  4. The WILD-TX device is now paired and ready to transmit audio.

Once one device is paired, no other devices can be paired until the “BT pair” button is pressed again. To reset the Bluetooth connection, hold the “BT pair” button for more than 5 seconds.

7.1 Extended Information about the WiLD Pairing Procedure

The WiLD pairing procedure must be performed at least once to set up a WiLD system after installation and powering. It can be performed multiple times to add, remove, or replace receivers.

The pairing procedure is accumulative. The first pairing starts a discovery process. Subsequent pairings scan for additional unpaired receivers. The internal list is updated accordingly.

Recommendation: Pair receivers when they are close to the transmitter, then move them to their final installation location.
