Wireless USB Adapter
1 Connect to a Computer
Option 1: Directly
Connect the Wireless USB Adapter directly to a USB port on your computer. This can be done with a desktop computer or a laptop.

Option 2: Via the USB Extension Cable
Connect the Wireless USB Adapter to one end of the USB extension cable, and then plug the other end of the cable into a USB port on your computer. This is useful for desktop computers to allow for better placement of the adapter.

Note: In Windows XP or Vista, a "Found New Hardware Wizard" window may appear when the adapter is detected. Please click "Cancel" to proceed with the driver installation from the CD or downloaded files.
2 Install Driver
For Windows
- Insert the CD that came with your adapter into your computer's CD-ROM drive and run the
Autorun.exe
file. - Alternatively, you can download the latest driver from the TP-Link support page at www.tp-link.com.
- Select your adapter from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: If you encounter issues during driver installation, try disabling your antivirus software and firewall temporarily, then attempt the installation again.
For Mac OS X
- Download the driver and utility software from the product's support page at www.tp-link.com.
- Unzip the downloaded folder and run the
Install.pkg
file. - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

3 Join a Wireless Network
For Windows
Option 1: Via Windows Wireless Utility
- Click the network icon (?) on the taskbar.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list, click "Connect", and enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Option 2: Via WPS Tool
If your adapter does not have a WPS button, you can ignore this option.
- Press the [WPS button] on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the [WPS button] on the adapter until the WPS Tool opens.
Once the "Success!" message appears, your computer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.

For Mac OS X
Option 1: Via TP-Link Utility
- Click the [TP-Link Utility icon] in the menu bar, or select the "Site Survey" tab from the utility's pop-up window.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Option 2: Via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
If your adapter does not have a WPS button, you can ignore this option.
- Press the [WPS button] on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the [WPS button] on the adapter until the WPS window appears.
When you see the message "WPS Protocol Finished" or "PBC - Get WPS profile successfully", the setup is complete.
